Seo Young POV

"Seo Young, get your ass down here right now!"

What a great way to wake up. Startled by a familiar high pitched screech. My mother doesn't want me to slack. She says "Just because it's the holidays doesn't mean you can lie in bed all day."

She's expecting me to clean our house. My dad is out at work and my brother is two years younger than me so she doesn't expect him to do anything. He wouldn't do any thing any way. A 16 year old boy doing house work; don't make me laugh, especially not my brother. He'd rather be playing on his Xbox with people around the world than actually socialise with any one he knows in real life. Except for his girlfriend. My mother is so proud of him for getting one. Yet another reason she prefers him over me. She was expecting me to have some one by now, only thing is there is I have a problem : I'm not pretty. The only thing going for me is my brains, and my singing ability. But who's going to want that?

"SEO YOUNG I MEAN IT"
I slide out of bed and land on the floor with a bump. I lie there for a few minutes, completely forgetting I need to respond to my mother. I glance up to my clock and see that it is 11 AM.
"11...am.... 11AM!!" I scream.
I was meant to be meeting my best friend, Park Hyo Rin, at half eleven. That must have been what my mother was shouting me for. I run into my bathroom and jump into the shower. Taking the quickest time I possibly can, I jump out again after I've finished, grab a towel and run to my wardrobe. Picking out the easiest clothes I can quickly put on, I get changed as quickly as possible. I brush my teeth, brush my hair and wash my face. Then put on the makeup I wear everyday and run downstairs.

"ARGH PHONE AND BAG"
I run back upstairs and grab my phone, headphones, money and a bag. Back down the stairs again. I slip on my shoes only to be greeted at the door by my mother.
"Where are you going? I wanted you to do some chores today?"
"Meeting Hyo Rin, I promised I'd meet her today"
"Ok then if you must, be safe, what time will you be back."My mother asks me
"About 4 probably, maybe later, depends if we see a movie. I'll text you" I reply
"Ok have fun"

Once I'm on the bus I check the time, it's already 11:30. I send a text to Hyo Rin :

I'm so sorry I'm gonna be a bit late I'm only just on the bus, expect me to be there at around 12

The bus to the centre of Seoul should only take 15 minutes on a good day from my house, however as it was the holidays I wasn't expecting much. Better to be safe than sorry. About ten minutes into the bus journey I got a reply :

It's ok. I'm waiting inside the mc Donald's we normally go to. I've only just arrived here.

The time was 11:45. The bus had nearly reached my stop and the McDonald's wasn't far from here, only about a five minute walk. The bus pulled into the stop and I stood up, ready to leave. No one else is getting off on the same stop as me which is lucky, I don't like big crowds. It's one of the reasons I've never been to a concert. Hyo Rin has been to loads, mainly because she is a massive fangirl of groups like BTS, Big Bang, Shinee and most importantly her favourite group, EXO.

I leave the bus with my head phones still in. I begin the walk to the McDonalds we are meeting at, keeping my head facing the ground. I have perfected the art of doing this without bumping into people, but I'm lucky today as there aren't many people at this side of town. As today is such a beautiful day, most people are at the main city park or out shopping in the district by it. The only attraction on this side of the city is the SM building. Most teenage girls my age wish for the chance to audition and debut under SM, who are possibly the biggest agency in Korea. Even sometimes as I pass it, I wonder what the idol life is like, but of course I could never be one, I am far too imperfect.
I reach the corner close to where I'm meeting Hyo Rin. I take the step required to turn the corner when I see another foot step in front of me, going the opposite way to me. It seems my trick for avoiding people has failed this time.

I look up at the same time as they do. By their build they appear to be a male, maybe a few years older than me, however it is unclear as they are wearing black sunglasses and a black face mask. Together these cover all facial features. He is wearing black Skinny jeans and a black hoodie. "He must be really hot" I think, as it is a really hot day and I know that the colour black absorbs heat better than any other colour. He is also wearing a black beanie. I feel intimidated by his presence, and it doesn't help that he is so tall it is almost as if he is looming over me. "Sorry.. I wasn't looking where I was going" I mumble
"No, it was my fault I apologise" he says. His voice is very rough and deep, I wasn't expecting it to sound like that. I'm taken aback, but it is too late as he has already gone. I turn around just to see the back of him quickly striding away from me. I can add that to a long list of strange things I've seen in the 18 years I've been alive. I shrug and carry on walking in the direction I was originally going, continuing to meet Hyo Rin.
