Chapter Sixteen - Interruptions

Practice is over for the day, and Ashley invites all the girls into our dorm. "If that's alright with you two." She nods at me and Yun So.
"Yeah it's fine." We both respond.

We get to our floor and I suddenly remember Kyungsoo.
"I'll be in in a second. I just need to see Kyungsoo."
I hurry to the elevator. The practice wasn't that strenuous, so my clothes weren't that sweaty. Ideally I would have taken a shower, however I'm sure Kyungsoo wanted me right after practice.

Dorm four. I knock on the door. Elegant footsteps approach.
"Who is it?"
"It's Seo Young, Kyungsoo was expecting me."
The door opens and I see Kai in front of me.
"Kyungsoo isn't here. He's still training with Jongdae and Baekhyun. Come in. He'll be done soon." He smiles warmly at me.

I enter the dorm room and look around. Most of the room is a mess. Two out of the three beds are unmade. The bed in the corner however is neatly made and there are no clothes or shoes around the bottom.
"Yeah that's Kyungsoo's bed... He's pretty tidy..." Kai sighs and looks around what I assume is his own bed. "And this is my mess. If I had known you were coming I would have made an effort to clean it a bit." He smiles feebly at me.
"It's fine honestly. I'm the one who's imposing." I try to blame myself rather than make him feel bad.

"Seo Young, you're so humble. You have exactly what you need to be an idol, I just don't want you to lose who your sincerity when you are famous." Kai blurts out.
"But you barely know me. How do you know what I'm really like?" I laugh, and it is true. He hardly knows me,we only met today after all.
He sighs and lays down on his bed, that he had spent the last minute making.
"I can just tell. I've met people like you before. I lost them when I stopped talking to them while training." He stops. "Also, another pointer, don't stop talking to your friends or family while you are training. It ends badly and you lose people you love a lot." He sighs again.

My mind goes straight to Hyo Rin. Now that I'm training I see Chan Hee and So Hyun nearly everyday, however I haven't spoken to Hyo Rin since I moved into the dorms, as I've been busy with adjusting to life here. The only reason I've spoken to my mother is because she's phoned me, not the other way round. The same with Ho Jin. Hyo Rin must be waiting for me to call her, and I have to, otherwise she might presume things; Like I've forgotten her now I'm a trainee.

"I'm going to go... I have something to do." I start to walk towards the door, however Kai stands up and blocks my path.
"What about Kyungsoo?" He asks. I try to push past, however Kai is much taller and stronger than me. He pushes me back and sits me down on his bed.
"What? But I need to go. I'll talk to Kyungsoo later." I try to tell him, but he won't listen.
"I love your company Seo Young, and I've been so alone. Everyone is so focused on preparing for our comeback, that no one ever bothers with me. I'm only needed for dancing, nothing else." He tells me.
"And I'm sorry, I'll come back later, but for now I need to go." I stand up, however Kai again pushes me down, this time stronger and I am knocked on my back.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry Seo Young. I didn't mean to. Please forgive me." He stretches out a hand and tries to pull me up.

In that instant to dorm door opens, and Kai is shocked. He falls off his feet and lands right on top of me, his whole body pinning me to the bed. He lifts his body up and now balances on the palms of his hands, knees either side of my body, his face a few millimetres from mine.
"Jongin, what the hell are you doing?!"
Kyungsoo. I can't see him as Kai is blocking my view, however I know it is definitely his voice. Kai turns his head to face Kyungsoo.

"It's honestly not what it looks like." Kai stutters.
"I hope to God it's not." Kyungsoo exclaims.
Kai stands up from the bed, and I sit up.
"So what did you want to see me for?" I ask Kyungsoo.
He eyes Kai and glances back at me. "Oh I'll tell you later."
Kai notices he's not wanted. "I need to piss."
And with that he walks into the bathroom.

There is a silence, and you take out your phone, sending a text to Hyo Rin.

Want to meet up tomorrow? I'll tell you where later.

You pause before sending it.

Love you. I haven't forgotten you if that's what you think has happened. I'm just busy. I'm so sorry. I would never forget you.

You look up after sending it, and catch Kyungsoo staring at you. He looks away swiftly.

"So... Do you want to tell me now?" You ask him.
"Oh yeah... I was wondering... If you want to come over to the dorm tomorrow.... For a movie night." He awkwardly blurts.
It took me by surprise.
"Yeah sure. It will be fun." You smile.

Kai walks out of the bathroom.
"Jesus took you long enough to ask, and yeah dorm movie night will be fun."
Kyungsoo makes and effort to object, however is interrupted. Chanyeol has returned.

"Hey Kai, Kyungsoo..." He pauses over you. "Sneakers."
"I have a name you know."
"Yeah yeah Seo Young I know. Anyway what are you doing here?"

Kai answers before I have the chance.
"Kyungsoo's inviting her to a dorm movie night."
"Oh cool, I'll bring Baekhyun, we can make it a big thing." Chanyeol responds.
Kyungsoo's face falls.
"Yeah, anyone else you'd like to invite. The president perhaps." Kyungsoo sarcastically announces.
"Actually... I was wondering if my friend Hyo Rin could come. I haven't talked to her in ages. And it would be fun." I ask.
Kyungsoo looks at you expectantly, however nods.
