Chapter Five - Attention

I had reached the hospital. Hyo Rin was waiting outside. I had told her I was going to come with her to see So Hyun and her sister, Bo Jung.
"You ready to go in?" She asks me as I reach her. I nod. We open the door and approach the main reception.
"Do you know what floor Yo Bo Jung is being cared for?" Hyo Rin asks "We're friends of hers"
"Sorry, only family are allowed to see her." The receptionist responds, then goes back to typing. Obvious that we won't be able to get to see her, we decide to leave.

"Hey Hyo Rin, do you want to walk past the SM building again?" I ask her expectantly. This seems to lift her spirits as she nods. I keep my head up as we walk, taking in the sights. In the distance I can see the SM building, the building where so many people's dreams are ignited, or killed. There is a crowd of girls outside of it. Hyo Rin begins to run forward to see why they have all gathered.

I watch her run into the crowd, as I stand across the street, observing away from the crowd. There appears to be a clear gap in the crowd where the Main building door is, with guards holding the crowd back on either side. It's apparent that some idols are going to be leaving soon.
After about ten minutes of waiting, When I was about to go into the crowd and find Hyo Rin to tell her I was leaving, the door opened and a man dressed in a suit exited the building, followed by nine young men. I guessed that these men were EXO, even though this time they were dressed in normal clothes. The car still hadn't arrived for them to get into, so they had to wait. All around them were people dressed in suits and guards stood trying to hold the crowd of fangirls back. EXO began to look around and smile and wave at the fans. All the while this was going on, the fans were screaming. I was in awe that people could react like this. Even Hyo Rin, who is normally so level headed, was nearly in tears. The tallest member of EXO had turned to face me. He looked so young, however I knew he was about 20 ish. When he saw me looking at them from across the street, he waved. I remembered I was still wearing only scruffy clothes and my hair was up in a messy bun because I hadn't expected to meet anyone today. I blushed and imagined what a mess I looked, and to EXO as well. I hoped he would look away soon. He shouted in a deep rough voice "Sneakers! Long time no see!"

Oh dear, I thought. So this is Chanyeol. The same Chanyeol I had spoken to yesterday. Now I would have to explain this to Hyo Rin, why Chanyeol, her only love, was shouting to me. But Chanyeol looked different to how I imagined, plus after hearing his deep voice yesterday, I wasn't expecting that face to match it.
He was still waving at me. I decided to ignore him, as that way Hyo Rin wouldn't be able to assume he was talking to me. This display however had attracted the crowd to look over at me, as well as the rest of EXO. I froze. I don't like attention, and looking the way I was, I didn't like it even more.
Luckily, A car pulled up in front of the SM building. It appeared to be their car. As the first members began to get in, Chanyeol stayed at the back, still looking at me. He had stopped waving and was instead shaking his head at me. Everyone in the crowd had turned their attention back to EXO, so I took the chance to respond with a shrug and mouthed "What?". He just laughed and disappeared into the car.

The crowd slowly began to disperse after EXO had left, however I still couldn't see Hyo Rin. There were only a few people left, so I decided to cross the road and look for her. I find her stood stock still in the middle of the pavement.
"Earth to Hyo Rin, I see you've just come into contact with some beautiful aliens" I laugh at her dazed expression.
I assume she didn't see Chanyeol waving, so I don't bring it up. I tell her I'm going to go home and I leave. I wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible because of what I was wearing, praying I didn't meet anyone I knew on the way back.

When I arrived home, I realised I hadn't told my mother I was leaving. While I was worrying about Bo Jung and So Hyun, I had forgotten to tell my mother I was going anywhere. She was waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs. "What do you have to say for yourself, Seo Young?"
"Mother, I went to visit Bo Jung... The accident, she was involved." Was all that I told her. At that point my brother came down stairs
"What's for dinner?" He asked in a sleepily tone. He had probably gone back to sleep as soon as I left his room.
"Not now Seo Jun, I'm trying to deal with your sister" My mother turned back to me, a completely serious look on her face. Sensing something bad was about to happen, my brother retreated up the stairs, and scurried away to his room. Even though I hated him I wish he was here, He would be the only thing that would stop my mother releasing her full rage.
"Seo Young, you are never to leave this house again without permission..." She had started off calmly, I wasn't prepared for this.
"BUT FOR THE NEXT WEEK YOU ARE GROUNDED GIVE ME YOUR PHONE AND LAPTOP I WANT YOU TO STUDY"
My world came crashing down. No phone and laptop meant no music, and music was my world. If I couldn't listen to music I wouldn't know what I was doing with my life. I had some albums, however no where I could play them as my laptop was where I usually played them from. It's going to be a long week.
