i would like to formally apologize to everyone for this chapter. i love you all and you don't deserve this but i needed to do it. anyways, baby let the games begin.

Opening night was exactly a week away. Ticket sales were through the roof. The first month of shows were completely sold out. Eleanor and I sat crisscrossed on the stage floor watching Amelia buzz around fixing different props that she deemed "just not right". Eleanor extended her bag of crisps out to me and I happily took a handful, shoving them in my mouth.

"Gross." She said, shaking her head disapprovingly.

I smiled back at her with crisps falling out of my mouth. Just then the side door opened and in walked Harry. I felt an odd sensation deep in my tummy at the sight of him. I don't know if this giddy feeling when I see him will ever dissipate, but I certainly wouldn't mind if it stuck around. Directly behind Harry was none other than Danny Lutherman. My mind instantly went back to the moment before the table read when I saw his picture on the wall. That picture hasn't left my brain since the moment I first saw it. Harry's cheesy smile engraved in my mind.

They walked down the aisle of the theater and onto the stage. Eleanor and I looked at each other in shock before jumping to our feet to greet them. Eleanor tugged lightly on her short skirt, messing with her long brunette hair. I ran my fingers through my hair. Harry and Danny quickly approached us, Harry was smiling ear to ear which made my stomach do little flips.

"Danny, this is Eleanor, our Christine." Harry explained.

"Nice to meet you sir. Big fan." She extended her hand out to him.

"I appreciate that, darling." He shook her hand, a big smile plastered on his face.

"Lou" Harry mumbled. I looked over at him and he quickly wiped the corner of his mouth. He didn't have anything stuck on his lip. I crooked my head slightly, hoping to convey my question. He pointed at me then repeated the action. Oh! I wiped the corner of my mouth and a large crumb of crisp came falling to the ground. My eyes widened in embarrassment as I looked back up at him. He just laughed softly at me.

"And you must be Louis." I looked over to see Danny looking at me expectantly. He had short brown hair, tan skin, he must be making great use out of his retirement. Though I still wonder why he chose to retire, he's still young, only a couple years older than me. He's gorgeous, anyone could tell you that.

"Oh, yes! That's me! Sorry!" I rushed out, extending my hand out to him. He shook his head, laughing lightly. He enthusiastically shook my hand. Harry was looking at both of us with a big smile.

"I've heard a lot about you." Danny said, winking at me before pulling his hand away.

"Oh, have you?" I blushed, looking over at Harry who had turned positively crimson.

"This one thinks you're the best thing since sliced bread." He thumbed towards Harry before placing his hand softly on his chest. I looked down at his hand on Harry's chest. A distasteful feeling bubbled deep inside my chest. They're just old friends, I reminded myself. He lowered his hand back to his side.

"Danny wanted to watch you practice. Would that be alright with you two?" Harry asked.

"Fine with me!" Eleanor chirped. She obviously wasn't as affected by Danny's little touches.

"Yeah. That's okay." I smiled sheepishly.

"Great!" Harry clapped his hands together. "Before we begin. Louis, may I talk to you?"

"Yeah, of course." I swallowed nervously. Harry smiled softly, grabbing my arm and leading me backstage. Once we were out of view Harry cupped my jaw and pressed a soft kiss to my lips. Whatever turmoil was haunting me disappeared. I smiled into the kiss.
