The afternoon yellow son brazed the sky. Martin crossed the street into the pavement leading to the orphanage. It was time, it had been long since he had seen Lorna. He dreaded every second that went by without knowing that Lorna were okay. She was certainly not okay and he knew it. It wasn't going to be easy but he was going to be there always.
He climbed up the short plight of stairs and stood forth the door. He wasted no time and brought his hand to knocking on the one of the doors of the double doors of the orphanage. A few sounds of children playing inside brought a smile in him. The dark cloud that had been hovering around the orphanage was starting to disappear. It was the first sign that what has happened could be acknowledged and the progression forward could exist. He continued knocking on the orphanage before, the door swung open.
Jeremy had opened the door. He smiled at the sight of Martin. “You’re back,"
"Yeah, Jeremy, uhm, where have you guys been, “Martin said, remembering that he had not seen him at all from other times he had been at the orphanage. “I’ve been coming every morning,"
"We had to stay over at the church, Mrs Smith said we'd be there for a while,"
Martin looked at Jeremy's happiness. He hoedown he was not affected by the recent incident like he was. He was barely keeping things together. Things had been falling apart. No string or rope could keep these things from falling apart. But he admired their ability to move on. Thus ability wasn't in he was able to acquire as easily.
"Have you gone back to school, “Martin asked.
"No we haven’t, “Jeremy said, a frown coming over his face. “But Mrs Smith said we'd start going back to school on Monday,"
Things were starting to mend themselves somehow. It was the small steps that mattered. After a Sunday, they'd have to move on and carry on with that that was life. It was weird. And Martin had never imagined himself doing so. How was he able to continue living? It was a weird thought that always managed to cross his mind. He didn't want to accommodate such thoughts. But somehow they always accommodated themselves.
"Do you want to come in, “Jeremy asked, surprised Martin still stood forth the door like a guest.
"Yeah, uhm where's Anna, “Martin asked looking around the kitchen from the door.
"She's washing up the others, “Jeremy replied, letting Martin enter. “Should I go and call her,"
"No, Uhm, it's fine, I'm just going to see Lorna, “Martin explained.
He passed from the dining room a few of the girls playing with dolls. Then climbing the stairs, he passed sine boys playing hide and seek. The sight of all of this was almost capable of bringing a tear to him. Since the beginning he had never imagined things going back to normal like this. It was a weird sight. He continued up the stairs, hoping not to be bumped by more of the children. He liked their happiness. But he really wanted to get to Lorna. Somehow he felt like something may sprung from the air and keep him away from her again. He couldn't allow that. It was time. It was time for him to see Lorna again.
