1974 - Experiment 476 - Endeavour

Recordings from our observations on the Vedoxians show the creatures to be resistant to guns or any weapons used against them. Bullets are simply not faster than their speeds. If our theory is correct, they won't have resistance against their own resistance. Meaning, they won't be faster than something faster than sound, like light.

_OCo._

It was a bright morning, with the sun shining and the sky a clear blue. The usual morning sounds filled the quiet suburb of Worth Valley. The people in the town, were a lot like Texans but more country-like.

Telonin glanced at the newspaper as he got ready for school. He fixed his tie while looking at it and widened his eyes in surprise. Quickly grabbing the newspaper again for a closer look, he read that the town's crazy fella, Jack Daniels, thought there might be aliens from the future trying to kill us.

Scratching his head as he processed the information, he realized that time had flown. Furthermore, Mrs. Smith was about to call him down.

"Telonin," she shouted from downstairs. "You are going to be late!"

Telonin quickly barged out of his room and locked the door behind him. He rushed downstairs with his backpack on. Smartly dressed with valedictorian and top achiever badges.

"Good morning, Ma," greeted Telonin, taking a seat and devouring the steaming delicious porridge.

"Good morning, Telonin," greeted Mrs. Smith back. "This valedictorian thing of yours is becoming too much, Telonin."

Unsurprised by the statement, Telonin still found it a good way to contribute to society. "Ma, I know," he answered slightly guilty. "I'm sorry for not being home much these days, but I promise, Ma, it will be worth it!"

Mrs. Smith hugged Telonin, his head nearly popping from the enormous hug. She messed up his combed brown fluffy hair, making him regret the time spent combing it.

"Are they all really still sleeping?" he asked, looking around for anyone else.

"Yeah, you know, you really leave early these days," she said, slightly aggravated. "They wake up like an hour after you leave!"

Telonin grumbled when he gazed at the clock on the wall. Time was definitely his enemy today. He dashed from his chair and waved goodbye to Mrs. Smith as he sprinted out from the orphanage home, down the busy streets to school.

School ran its course as usual. Telonin, the active school boy, carried on. Eventually, break came along and all the students headed to the field for lunch. Telonin came out from the school's kitchen carrying food from the school's food scheme for disadvantaged learners, and happily made his way to the field to have some lunch.

He looked ahead at his usual chilling spot and saw his best friend, Martin, leaning against the green benches. His long black hair swayed with the wind that blew harmoniously with his calm posture. Martin noticed Telonin approaching and saw the food he was carrying. He felt slightly unhappy that his best friend didn't want to bother him anymore with lunch and stuff.

Telonin approached and threw himself against the bench, setting down the food and breathing a sigh of relief.

"Man, I feel like our friendship is ending!" said Martin as he noticed that Telonin didn't greet him. "Haven't seen you in a while, bruh?"

"Sorry, man. About the food I got from the office, I thought you made new friends," answered Telonin, taking out a piece of bread from the food package.

"Bruh, no matter how far away I am, we'll always be best friends," Martin reassured him, taking out an extra burger that his stepmom had prepared and giving it to him.
