ꜱᴜᴍᴍᴀʀʏ: Goose has decided that she likes Tony Stark.
Unfortunately for Steve Rogers, Goose can be a little protective over her humans.
And she has a short temper when having a bad day.==========
Goose didn't like a lot of people. But when she did find someone she liked, she got a little... protective.
Her main human Carol didn't really need much protection. She was capable of taking care of herself and didn't tolerate any idiocy. It was why Goose liked her so much.
But her latest pet-human was a different story. He was too nice and forgiving and while he was capable of taking care of himself, he often didn't.
And while the humans around him often made sure that he ate enough food and slept enough, they couldn't be around all the time.
Which was where the irritants came in. The blond one and the red one. They were constantly trying to speak with her sweet little human and he DID NOT want to speak with them.
But no matter how many times someone told them to back off, they didn't get the message.
Their ex-friends told them to stop.
Her human's friends told them to stop.
Her Carol told them to stop.
Everyone told them to stop and they were. Just. Not. Getting. The message.
It was annoying Goose. She just wanted to spend time with her human getting all the pets and lovely food since he was a good human and spoiled her.
And then these two bumbled in to try and get what they wanted.
It was getting on her nerves more and more.
Initially, she was fine with letting the others deal with it. For the most part, the annoying ones only got a few sentences in before someone appeared to kick them out.
But...
But Goose had had a long day. She'd been caught outside when it started raining and she was drenched. Not to mention that most of the inhabitants of the Compound had been out because of some idiotic invader or another.
So it took her a while to track down her sweet little human to help with the situation. And he was really the best human.
He dropped what he was doing and immediately started fussing over her when she let out a sad meow. He was getting her favorite food, a towel, and a hairdryer to dry her soaked fur.
Then he said they'd curl up under a blanket and watch a movie while he gave her all the pets.
Goose loved this human.
And then that blond idiot stopped them as they were headed to her human's room.
"Tony!" he shouted, delighted to see her human apparently away from anyone who could interfere. The red irritant was close behind him.
Goose felt her sweet human tense up at the shout and she was just... Done.
She'd had a bad day. She was just about to get cuddles and now this irritating fly in human form was trying to interfere? And bother one of her favorite humans again?!
Not this time.
================
Tony barely had time to process as Goose opened her mouth and tentacles grabbed Rogers and pulled him into the flerken's endless pocket dimension stomach.
Natasha froze where she was standing. Tony had never seen her look so terrified as she suddenly high-tailed it out of there.
Tony looked down at Goose who was licking at her paw. She looked back up at Tony and gave a sad little meow, still soaking wet and miserable-looking.
"You just ate Captain America," Tony whispered faintly. He stared at her for a moment, feeling hysterical panic rise in his chest. "I can't believe you just ate Captain America," he squeaked.
She nuzzled his cheek and purred.
"Well, yes it was very sweet of you and he was being very annoying Goosey," Tony nodded in agreement. "But you just ate Captain America!"
He held the flerken close to his chest.
"Friday?"
"Yes Boss?"
"Delete the footage of the last ten minutes please."
"Done Boss."
"I can't believe you ate Captain America," he whispered again as he continued with warming the poor thing up. He needed to get something really tasty for her to get that taste out of her mouth.
Later, when Tony and Goose were cuddling in front of the television, Carol walked in. She smiled when she saw them together.
"Are you getting all the attention today?" she asked her flerken, scratching Goose's head.
"If she gets indigestion, it's not my fault!" Tony blurted out.
Carol stared at him in bewilderment.
"Okaaaaay?" she drew out the word. It wasn't like they could stop Goose from eating something if she wanted to, even if it would make her sick.
Tony just clutched the flerken to his chest and stared up at her. Carol eventually left. Tony could be odd sometimes.
A few days later, Rhodey brought up the question of whether anyone had seen Rogers lately. Romanoff studiously kept her gaze on the table.
"I know nothing!" Tony yelped and fled the room.
That's when it clicked for Carol.
"Ooooooh," she murmured, drawing their attention.
She picked her flerken up and looked her in the eyes. "Spit him up Goose. Idiocy is terrible for the digestion system."
Goose gave a petulant 'meow' before hacking up one traumatized Steve Rogers.
There was silence for a beat.
"Oh my gosh, I can't believe she ate Captain America!" Peter cried shrilly.
"That's what I said!" Tony yelled from the distance.
Silly boys. If they knew the amount of people Goose ate for annoying her they'd be a lot less freaked out. Or maybe more. After all, there was that one time with Fury...
