"Then what happened" Teddy asked as we calmed down "What do you mean?" Gordie asked confused "I mean, what happened?" Teddy asked again "What do you mean what happened, that's the end" Gordie said, still confused. Teddy cocked his head back " How can that be the end, what kind of an ending is that? What happened to Lardass?" Teddy said nodding his head for him to go on "I don't know. Maybe he went home and celebrated with a few cheeseburgers" Gordie shrugged "Jeeze. That sucks. Why don't you make it so that Lardass goes home, an' he shoots his father. An' he runs away. An' - an' he joins the Texas- Rangers. How about that?" Teddy suggested "That's a bit extreme don't ya think?" I asked Teddy and he shrugged "Yeah it's a good story, Gordie, I just don't like the ending." Teddy sighed and crawled back to his spot
"Hey, Verno, where's the radio, let's see if we can get some sounds Chris said and looked around for the radio "Here." Vern handed him the radio. Chris turned it on and we all sat in our spots. We talked into the night, things that seemed important but in my mind non of it was. But what it was important that we are all here.
We all ended up falling asleep but were woken up by the sounds of wolves or coyotes. I jumped up and speed walked over to Chris who was holding the pistol "Oh my god!" Vern cried "It's that Brower-kid. His ghost's out walking in the woods." Teddy said and Vern shook "I promise I'll hawk no more dirty books. I promise I won't say no more bad swears. I promise I'll eat all my lima beans!" Vern begged. Teddy did something to scare Vern so he jumped "Two for flinching" Teddy grinned hit Vern
"What is it, Chris?" Gordie asked. I grabbed Chris' sides and squeezed him "It might just be coyotes" He said and rubbed my back. I felt another hand on my back, i turned my head and saw Gordie's hand on my back. He looked at me and i gulped "It sounds like a woman screaming" I whimpered "It's not coyotes. It's his ghost" Teddy continued to tease Vern "Don't say that!" Vern cried "Stop teasing Vern Teddy" I whined "Teddy sit down" Chris ordered "I'm gonna look for it. I wanna see the ghost!" Teddy grinned "Don't say that!" Vern said again. I looked at Chris "Chris i don't like this. They don't sound like coyotes" i whimpered and he shook his head "Don't think that... It's okay" He said reassuringly. I nodded vigorously, i have always had been afraid of what lurks in the dark but i still can't help not to look from my curiosity, its a blessing and a curse
The animals howled louder and i quickly put my head in Chris' shoulder. He hushed me softly and i relaxed a bit "Maybe we should stand guard?" Vern suggested "Yeah, that's a good idea" Chris said "Here, give me the gun. I'll take first watch" Teddy said and took the gun.
Teddy continued to do his army talk while we tried to talk. Also, playing the imaginary trumpet.

Chris had woken me up when he was taking guard, I sat up and poked at the fire. No one spoke, till Gordie started to groan in his sleep "Chris" i whispered and nodded him over. He stood up and walked over to me, sitting next to me. Gordie sat up abruptly and looked around "Are you okay?" Chris asked him "Huh?" he said still looking around "You were dreaming" I said not taking my eyes off the fire "I do that to... have bad dreams about my dad" i said quietly.
"I didn't cry at Denny's funeral.. I miss him guys... i really do" Gordie sighed. I looked up at him but back down "Yea i know, go back to sleep" Chris said and went back up to the tree. I looked at him, and then to Gordie. Somethings gonna happen
