Chapter 11

"I guess i'm just a pussy Huh guys?" Chris cried more. Me and Gordie went and hugged him while he cried "Go get some sleep Chris, i will take the watch" I smiled. He wiped his eyes and nodded, standing up. I took the guy and sat where he was sitting. Gordie didn't move, after Chris was asleep the awkward silence was broken by Gordie talking

"I didn't mean what i said at the tracks." Gordie sighed and i looked at the stars "It's true. I feel like you guys only tolerate me because i'm Chris' sister" I said with a shrug "It's not true though. We except as our sister to" He said turning to his side and looking at me. I didn't reply. He turned back and we continued to look at the stars. After a while i got tired of the silence so i played a bit risky

"Gordie.." I said and he hummed is response "Have you ever... Held hands with someone?" I asked and he sighed "No, pretty girls don't like me" He said. I swallowed "All the pretty girls like Samuel Kaelo" He frowned "I don't like him.." I said and looked at him "Well then that's one pretty girl that doesn't" He said smoothly. I chuckled and he looked at me "What?" he asked and i smiled wide "No one has ever called me pretty" I smiled and he shook his head "Hm... That's hard to believe" he laughed and i looked at him "Since when were you Mr.Smooth there Lachance?" I asked and he chuckled "I know this girl" he said smiling at me.

It went silent again, after a while i felt Gordie's pinky over mine. I smiled and linked our pinkies together. Oh my god. I like Gordie.

We were all woken up by the freight except Gordie who took the final watch. We packed up camp and were making our way to the Royal River. I hoped it wasn't far because i was still tired from the hole talk last night. We ate our food while we walked. I was the cleanest one there of course. Once we made it to the Royal River i had a very strange feeling about it "How are we supposed to get across this" Vern asked "We use you as a raft" Teddy said sarcastically. Vern seemed to be getting tired of Teddy's sarcasm "Very funny" He rolled his eyes. Chris broke a stick and poked at the water "Hey, it's not that deep we can just walked across" Chris said poking the water

"Chris maybe that's not--" I was to late. They all fell into the water. I dropped my jaw and waited for there response before dying of laughter. I calmed down and looked around "I'm gonna find a different way across" I laughed and started to look around. While they wrestled in the water I pushed down a dead tree that fell across perfectly (a/n You can push down dead trees I do it all the time)

I carefully walked across unsure that it was stable or not. My foot fell into the water causing me to have a small heart attack. I fell to my knees and took my foot out slowly. My sock stuck to my foot making me very, very uncomfortable. I looked at my foot and felt my heart drop. There was a leech on my ankle. I swatted it off and stood up.

"Leeches!"
