Jhoanna POV
I had my head bowed down on mama's hospital bed.
I haven't been sleeping and eating properly for the past few days.
I'm so worried about mama, but thankfully the doctors said she's getting better and she's out of the woods.
I felt mama's hand touch my hair and I immediately raised my head to look at her.
" Ma, okay ka lang? May masakit pa ba sayo? " I asked her.
" Jho nak, sabi ko naman sayo okay ako eh. Pumasok ka na sa school, kaya ko naman dito. May mga nurse naman na aalalay sakin " She assured me.
" Pero Ma, iba pa din yung nandito ako yung mababantayan kita " I replied.
" Anak kaya ko na, sige na pumasok ka na ngayon " She insisted.
" Ma- " I said before getting cut off by her.
" Jhoanna magagalit ako kapag hindi ka pa pumasok " She said.
" Opo ma, ito na papasok na " I said as I got up.
She grabbed my hand and handed me some money.
" Baon mo anak " She said as she put the money in my plam.
" Ma, wag na, may tira pa naman ako " I refused.
" Anak, wag ng makulit. Kakain ka ng maayos sa school ha? Kwentuhan mo ako pag-uwi mo " She said I accepted the money she gave me.
I went home to change clothes and I got to school late.
As I was walking the hallways, I heard the Monday morning broadcast.
" This is Stacey Sevilleja, are you ready for today's broadcast? Our basketball team went head to head with the Green Archers last week and we finished the game ahead bt two points granting victory to our Blue Eagles! "
Stacey? She's the one who covered for me?
I went to our classroom and excused myself since I was late and I sat down next to Aiah.
" Jho okay ka lang? " She whispered.
" Oo okay na " I replied.
" Class, pass your assignments forward " Our teacher announced.
" Shocks Aiah, di ko alam na may assignment "
" May assignment ka dito oh " She said as she showed me a printout with my name on it.
" Aw, thank you Aiah " I thanked her in a soft voice.
" Di ako may gawa nyan " She responded.
" Ha? Sino? " I asked her.
" Ayaw magpasabi eh, secret daw " She replied.
Secret? Sino pa ba gagawa nito for me? Si Aiah lang naman talaga yung kaclose ko
I approached our teacher after out class got dismissed.
" Ma'am, I'm sorry po absent ako ng ilang araw, may namiss po ba ako? " I asked our teacher.
" Wala ka namang missed activity, buti na lang nagpapasa ka kay Ms. Sevilleja. Wag ka ng aabsent ulit ng ganon, sayang ang scholarship mo Ms. Robles " She responded.
Kay Stacey? Wala naman ako pinapasa kay Stacey ah?
" Thank you po ma'am! " I thanked our teacher before she left.
" Jhoanna welcome baaaaack! " Maloi said as she entered our room.
" Oh tapos na yung broadcast? " I asked her.
" Oo kakatapos lang " She responded.
" Si Stacey nagcover for me? Pano nangyari yun? " I asked her.
" Di ko nga din alam eh, nag offer lang siya nung sinabi ko na baka ma dissolve tayo if walang magcover " She explained.
Really? Si Stacey din kaya yung gumawa ng assignment ko and pagpapasa ng requirements ko?
Not long after Maloi arrived, Stacey walked through the door as well.
" Stakuuu, may surprise kami sayo. Andito na yung hinahanap hanap moooo " Maloi teased Stacey.
I turned around to look at her.
" Good morning Stacey " I waned and smiled at her.
She just gave me cold look and didn't say anything.
" Thank you nga pala sa pagcover sak- " I tried to thank her but dinaanan niya lang ako at umalis na din.
" Labo nun ah, lagi ka hinahanap tapos ngayon nandyan ka, di ka papansinin " Maloi said.
Hinahanap ako ni Stacey?
" Jho wait lang ah, habulin ko yun tanungin ko anong problema niya " Maloi said before running after Stacey.

Stacey POV
" Huy Staku " Maloi said as she tried to catch up to me.
" Bakit ba? " I responded.
" Tagal mo hinintay si Jhoanna tapos di mo papansin " She replied.
" Okay naman pala siya eh, di man lang nagsabi " I rolled my eyes.
" OA Staku ah! Eh bat naman siya magsasabi sayo? Friends na ba kayo? Diba parang kailan lang binubully mo siya " She reacted.
" Basta, I'm annoyed " I replied.

Jhoanna POV
" Nako Jho parang nagtatampong bata si Staku " Maloi said as she came back and sat down to me and Aiah.
" Nagtatampo? Bakit naman? " I asked her.
" Ewan ko dun, di ka daw nagsabi sa kanya " She replied.
" Nagsabi? Para saan? " I was so confused by Stacey's actions.
" Siya kasi nagawa ng school works mo, mag-isa din naglinis ng library nung Sunday " Maloi explained.
" Wait, what did you say? Si Stacey gumagawa ng school works ko? " I asked her.
" Oo " She answered.
" Loi lagot tayo kay Stacey di niya pinapasabi " Aiah tried stopped her.
" Ikaw lang, di naman ako kaya ni Staku " Maloi laughed.
What's up with Stacey? Bakit niya ginawa lahat yun for me?
I guess I have to apologize and kailangan ko din bumawi sa kanya.
After class, I caught a glimpse of Stacey walking sa hallway. I tried to catch up to her so I immediately got up and hinabol ko siya.
" Stacey " I shouted to catch her attends and she kept on walking.
" Stacey " I said once more and as I caught up to her and tapped her on her shoulder.
" What? " She asked me.
" Galit ka ba sakin? " I asked her.
She just scoffed and didn't answer.
" Sorry na Stacey, babawi ako this week. Ako naman sa last community service natin " I said in a soft voice.
I caught her smile slightly before saying " whatever "
" Bati na tayo ha " I softly said.
