The evening sun cast a golden glow across the terrace, the kind of warmth that usually calms my restless heart, but today, it wasn't enough. I lay on my stomach, stretched out on the cot, my ghagra choli snug against my body, the soft cotton of my pallu slipping down to reveal the curve of my waist. I should've adjusted it, but I didn't care. The terrace door was locked, and I was alone.

The papers for our upcoming projects were spread out before me, but my mind was only half on them. The pen twirled idly between my lips as I tapped my feet against the edge of the cot. I was trying so hard to focus, but the memory of him, his words, his tone kept replaying in my mind.

Don't create a scene, Siya!

I scoffed loudly, flipping onto my back and letting the papers flutter around me. My hair fanned out against the pillow, messy and carefree, much like my thoughts. Did Adhiraj really think I created unnecessary scenes? The audacity!

"Unnecessary scenes, huh?" I muttered to myself, rolling my eyes.

"As if I don't know how to control myself. Do I look like someone who creates drama? Ugh!" My hands went up in frustration, and I flopped back onto the cot, staring at the fading hues of the evening sky through the open terrace windows.

Yes, everything was normal now. Devraj was behind bars. Adhiraj had seen to it personally. Vidyut and his family had been sent to the outskirts of Raipur at Dadi-sa's insistence. Baba-sa had intervened, reminding Adhiraj of familial duties. And my husband, the mighty Hukum-sa, had reluctantly agreed.

"Reluctantly? Hah! That's an understatement," I scoff. He probably rolled his eyes when no one was looking. Oh, but he listened, didn't he? I knew Adhiraj was keeping a close watch on Vidyut's family. He wouldn't let them make a single move without his knowledge. He could keep an eye on them, but not on Mianshi's act? He could deal with Devraj but couldn't take two seconds to make it upto to his own wife! The nerve of that man!

My eyes darted to the phone on the bedside table. I had half a mind to call him right now and give him a piece of my mind. But no, I wasn't going to make it easy for him.

"I won't talk to him. Nope. He needs to suffer. He needs to realize how terrible he was yesterday," I said aloud, waving my pen like a sword. The anger still bubbled inside me as I slapped the stack of documents down.

"That's it. I'm going to Sharma residence," I announced to no one in particular. My father had shifted there recently with Rajshree Amma. He'd been asking me and Jiya to visit for weeks now. I had promised I'd come, but with everything going on, I hadn't made it. But now, it felt like the perfect opportunity.

"Yes," I said firmly.

"When I leave for Sharma residence, then maybe he will understand my value. Let him miss me for a day or two. Serves him right!" I sat up on the cot, my legs dangling over the side. I grabbed my phone and dialed Papa. The line connected quickly, and his warm voice greeted me.
