Every morning I woke up to the same thing, groaning and complaining. Not that it was surprising. We were forced to work all day, everyday. We never got a day off no matter what. If you were sick or injured you worked or died trying. By the time I was 14 I was sick and tired of this life, but it wasn't like I knew anything better. One day my whole life changed. I was called down to the front. Something you never want to happen to you. It rather meant you're out or you've been adopted. Being adopted was so unlikely we all just assumed we were out if it happened to any of us. Being out mean you are left in the endless woods to fend for yourself, surrounded by vicious animals and poisonous plants. I've heard that nobody has survived the endless woods for more than an hour, but there's no proof. I walked to the front office. Out of all the things that have happened to me in my life that was by far the scariest. I held on to the little bit of hope I had that I had been adopted. Although unlikely, it was possible. When I got to the office I got some news that at the time I thought was good. I had been adopted!
