also when i refer to the wakandans, bucky and gabrielle are included, because shuri has basically adopted them at this point lol

INT. BUCKY AND GABRIELLE'S APARTMENT - LIVING ROOM - BROOKLYN, NEW YORK - DAY

[Bucky and Gabrielle lean against each other on the couch, Bucky holding a Lord of the Rings book.]

"NERD!" Steve whisper-yells across the room, but Bucky flips him off as Gabrielle and Shuri snicker.

[Gabrielle suddenly snaps her head up, hearing something Bucky or the audience can't hear. Bucky looks at her confusedly as she gets off the couch and disappears down the hall.]

INT. BUCKY AND GABRIELLE'S APARTMENT - BEDROOM - BROOKLYN, NEW YORK - DAY

[Gabrielle mutters to herself as she rummages through the closet. Now the audience can hear what she heard before, the trilling of kimoyo beads.]

"Why am I not wearing my kimoyo beads?" Gabrielle asks herself. Shuri and Bucky shrug, both sitting next to her.

[Bucky comes into the room and leans against the door frame.]

BUCKY: What are you looking for?

GABRIELLE: Aha!

[She holds her blinking and trilling kimoyo beads in her hands as Bucky tilts his head in confusion. The trilling stops as Gabrielle accepts the call and an image of Ramonda is projected, her face tear-streaked. Bucky kneels on the floor next to Gabrielle.]

RAMONDA: I, Queen Ramonda of Wakanda, command you, James Buchanan Barnes and Gabrielle Clementine Barnes, to attend King T'Challa's funeral.

"What?" Ramonda whispers. The Wakandans all have shocked looks on their faces.

"You can't be dead!" Shuri exclaims before crushing her brother in a hug.

After a moment, T'Challa recollects himself. "Doctor Strange, if I may, how do I die?"

Strange sighs. "A disease that neither the Heart-Shaped herb nor Prince Shuri can cure." The Wakandans all share a nervous and scared look.

[Bucky and Gabrielle both go to interrupt, but Ramonda holds up a hand.]

RAMONDA (CONT'D): Transport will be provided.

BUCKY & GABRIELLE: (quietly) Of course, Your Majesty.

[There is a long pause before Ramonda's commanding demeanor falls and she lets out a small sob.]

BUCKY: Ramonda, what will the Elders think of us being there? Won't they-

RAMONDA: I DON'T CARE WHAT THEY THINK!

Everyone looks at Ramonda in shock.

[Bucky and Gabrielle look at her in shock. She never loses her cool.]

RAMONDA (CONT'D): I don't care what they think. If I want you there, you will be there. I am Queen now.

"We'll always be there," Bucky says quietly. "No matter what." 

Ramonda brings him and Gabrielle into a hug. "Thank you," she whispers. 

"Of course, Ramonda," Gabrielle says with a small smile.
