RECAP

"Madison will be living here the next 6 months," Dylan declared.

"What?!" Cath reacted, taken aback. She looked at Maddie looking for some kind of explanation from her, but she just sat there, crossing her arms.

CHAPTER 8

DEALING WITH TWO TROUBLE MAKERS

"Mads, what does he mean?" Cath asked her bestie.

Maddie tilted her head toward Cath. "My mom is in London and apparently she's agreed to hand me over to your brother," she told her.

"So you're gonna be living here with me?" Cath asked, an evil smirk appeared on her lips.

Knowing his sister, Dylan knew Cath had already arranged crazy plans in her head. Dylan shook his head slightly, "Cath, don't even think about your crazy plans because Madison here already in trouble."

"What trouble? What did she do?" Cath asked his brother.

"Yeah, Dylan. What did I do?" Maddie asked innocently.

"You know exactly what you did Madison and it's totally unacceptable," he said sternly to Maddie then to Cath, "And I know you knew what she did the whole time and you decided to lie to me."

"What? I didn't know anything!" Cath yelled and pouted.

"Lower your voice, Catherine, and cut the act please," Dylan said and glared at her.

Cath huffed and crossed her arms. "Why don't you go upstairs to your room. I'll deal with you after I sort out the rules to Madison," Dylan said.

"I can't believe I'm in trouble for something I wasn't involved in," Cath stated. She stood up from her seat and went out of his study to her room. She stomped her feet all the way there.

"Lose the attitude Cath!" Dylan told her.

Then Dylan faced Maddie and explained to her the rules. "Do you understand the rules, Maddie?" He asked after finished explaining.

"I understand sir. I just won't follow them," Maddie told him.

Dylan frowned at her. "You live under my roof, you follow my rules or face the consequences yourself," he simply said.

"Fine. Then simple, I will just move out and go back to my house," Maddie said and shrugged her shoulders.

"It's not your decision to make, Maddie," Dylan said and took a deep breath. "I know you don't like this, but could you please at least give it a try? I just want to make it easier for all of us," Dylan said. The look in his eyes softened.

"Fine. Whatever," Maddie huffed.

"Now, what should I do about the fact that you were faking sick, skipped school, lied to everyone, and lied to my face?" Dylan asked, raising his eyebrows. He was back to his stern-self.

"You already s-spanked me," Maddie answered, hesitating when she said the dreaded 's' word.

"That was for your disobedience. I hadn't punished you for the faking sick thing," Dylan told her.

She groaned. "You weren't even my guardian when I was faking sick," Maddie said.

"True, but I am now and I'm still your homeroom teacher," Dylan told her and Maddie groaned in response.

"So what should I do now to teach you a lesson Madison?" Dylan asked her.

"Let it go, forget about it, and move on," Maddie said, smirking.
