Cath walked up to her locker. She shoved her heavy books into her locker and shut it close. When she turned around, her eyes met with Henry's. He gave her a weak smile, but didn't say anything and walked away. It was kind of weird because he had never spoke to her for almost a week now. Not even a greet ever came out from his mouth.
"Henry! Wait up!" Cath shouted to him and chased him.
He stopped and turned around. "Are we okay? Are you avoiding me or something because you didn't say a word to me for almost a week now," Cath said as she stood in front of him.
"Yeah, we're okay," Henry told her, but avoiding her eyes.
"No, we're not. Tell me what's wrong. Tell me what I did wrong," Cath demanded.
"We're okay Cath," Henry said slowly, tried to assure her, but Cath didn't believe him.
"Just be honest with me Henry," Cath said and crossed her arms over her chest.
"Alright fine," Henry said, huffing, "meet me in the library at lunch."
"I'll be there," Cath said and walked past him to her class.
-----------
The lunch bell rang and Cath walked to the library instead of cafeteria. She needed explanation from Henry why they weren't in speaking term at the moment. She pushed the library door open and walked in. She found him in between book shelves, looking for books.
"So? Ready to explain?" She asked him and leaned against the book shelf.
He took her hand in his and led her to the place with a lot less people. He took a deep breath before saying, "I like you Cath. I like you not just as a friend, but more than that..."
Cath mouth was slightly open. She didn't aware of hearing those words came out from his mouth. "Henry..."
"No, Cath. Let me finish," he stopped her before she could say anything else.
"I was wrong avoiding you and I'm so sorry. I saw you with another guy and I was devastated. I love you Cath and I don't want to take your happiness away from you. I didn't want to be broken, so I ran away. I thought I was doing something right by avoiding you and stay away from you, but I was definitely wrong. I couldn't stop thinking about you. I want you to be happy Cath. I don't know what will going to happen now when you know how I feel toward you, but at least I say what I need to say. I want you to know how I feel," Henry said to her, looking into her eyes.
"Wait.. Rewind a little bit. You saw me with a guy? What guy?" Cath asked, confused.
"I saw you at the school backyard last week. You and a guy. You two were... kissing each other," Henry said while trying not to imagining it again.
Cath facepalmed herself and let out a small laugh.
"What's funny? I'm serious Cath," Henry said.
"No... This is all a misunderstanding Henry," Cath told him in between her laugh.
"What? I don't get it," Henry said, puzzled.
"Look, Henry. That guy you saw, his name is Carter. I was just making a deal with him. I wanted to get... um.. something from him and he wanted a kiss mouth to mouth with me. It's a long story actually," Cath explained, hesitate of telling him about the fake ID and the party thing, "what's important is that I'm not with him. I barely even friends with him, I was just making a deal."
"And that's the truth?" Henry asked, still digesting the information.
"Yeah, that's the truth. Why would I lie about it?"
"Huh... I guess I overreacted. I should've asked you about this earlier. I'm really sorry Cath," Henry apologized.
"It's okay. This is just a little misunderstanding," Cath said and gave him a smile.
There was an awkward silent after that. Cath put her hair behind her ear and looked down. Henry cleared his throat.
"So, Cath...," Henry broke the silence, "since you're not going out with anybody, would you like to go out with me?"
Cath looked up at him. She didn't expect Henry would say that and she didn't know what to say. "Are you asking me on a date?" Cath managed to ask.
"Yes Cath," Henry nodded his head.
"Yeah. Yes, I'd love to," Cath answered and smiled so big. She put her arms around his neck and hugged him.
Henry couldn't hide his happiness. He put his arms around Cath's waist, put her body up, and gave her a quick spin. Cath laughed and he planted a gentle kiss on her mouth.
Cath was really happy. The boy she had crushed on finally asked her out, but one problem though... Dylan would likely to kill both of them if he knew about this.
"One problem Henry...," Cath said and the smile disappeared on her face.
"What?" Henry asked.
"If my brother find out about this, I am so doomed and he will kill you," Cath mumbled.
Henry let out a laugh. "Don't you think it's a little bit excessive? I know your brother is strict and everything, but how bad could it be?"
Cath shook her head. "You know how my brother is. You're in his class, so you probably know how strict he is. In addition, he is overprotective over me. If it have to do with my safety, he could be very overprotective."
"What are you talking about Cath?" Henry asked, didn't get what she said at all. In that precise second, Cath knew Henry had no idea that Dylan aka his brother was a professor there in Eastside Academy.
"Oh my God... You didn't know?" Cath asked him.
"Know what? Cath, what are you talking about?" Henry asked, even more confused than he was before.
Cath let out a stressful sigh, "oh.. you really don't know... Dylan, my brother, is a professor here in this academy. You might know him as Mr. Collins."
"Your brother is Mr. Collins?" Henry asked, taken aback with the information.
"Yeah... He is my brother and also my guardian and also my teacher," Cath said, "this is confusing, huh?"
"Very confusing," Henry told her.
"How could you not know about this? I've known around here as 'the most strict professor's little sister'," she said while making an imaginary quotation mark with her fingers.
Henry laughed and shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe because I'm new here and there are lots of things that I need to learn about you," he said with a wink.
"Are you flirting with me?" Cath couldn't help but laughed.
"Maybe," Henry gave her a smile.
"Yeah, don't do that in front of my brother. He will eat you alive," Cath said, being serious.
"I can't argue that Mr. Collins can be tough and very strict sometimes, but I doubt he will eat me alive," Henry said.
"Yeah you don't know my brother," Cath said, "let's just keep our relationship a secret for a while, okay? I'm not ready to tell him just yet."
'and I don't want a sore bottom,' Cath added in her mind.
"Sure, anything for you," Henry said and Cath gave him a warm smile.
They spent the rest of the lunch time in the library, kissing each other's lips, having a great and romantic time surrounded by shelves full of books.
