It had been a week since the people of Hutsgalor were returned to their island, Finn went home with his mom but had visited multiple times in the one week alone. Huttsgalor was getting better with Duggard back, and the island was almost rebuilt from the attack that happened months before. Axel even with the island of Huttsgalor having everyone back stayed on Defenders of the Wing his reasoning was that they hadn't gotten Magnus back yet.
So here 5 of them were sitting outside near the eruptodon, Dak actually wasn't sitting down and was walking around much to his twin's dismay. "Why do you do this to me?" Leyla complains.
"It's not my fault you can't walk long distances yet." Dak responds. Leyla's injury had gotten better over the week, but she still couldn't walk far distances and definitely couldn't be pacing around like her twin was
"That's not my fault either," Leyla replies, "Gunnar had it out for me."
"It didn't help that we started insulting him." Axel adds in, sitting next to Leyla on the ground.
"It was really fun though." Leyla tells him.
"Was it worth the pain?" Dagur asks his daughter.
"Well no." Leyla responds, "But it was really fun."
"I think we have different definitions of fun." Mala responds to her daughter
"I thought it was fun too." Axel adds in.
"Then you both have the same definition." Dak tells them.
"Isn't your definition jumping off a dragon and almost dying?" Leyla asks, remembering the times she'd watch him do it.
"Well-" Dak starts, "Yeah."
"Then you can't say anything." Axel laughs.
"This is bullying." Dak mutters.
"Not really." Leyla responds to her twin.
"Ugh." Dak groans, throwing his head back at their responses.
"It's getting late." Mala starts, "We better get home before it gets much later."
"Yeah." Axel responds, reaching a hand down to help the redhead girl up.
"Thanks Axe." Leyla tells the boy after grabbing his hand.
The 5 of them walked out of the area, towards their home. It was getting colder in the year and the island was preparing for winter, the Defenders of the Wing winter wasn't as intense as berk's but the island still needed to prepare in case of a bad storm.
Their home was warm constantly, Mala insisted on it, she hated the cold, Dagur knew this and kept their home warmer. Axel, much like Mala, hated the cold so he was grateful for how warm the house was. Living with Magnus he didn't care much for anything except himself, so the only heater was in Magnus's room leaving Axel to freeze during the winter. Neither of the twins were necessarily bothered by the cold, much to Axel's annoyance, living in the wild for so long it was easier for them to ignore their surroundings.
The group of them had already eaten, they spent dinner with Throk who Mala invited to join them. Over the months Throk had started getting closer to the royal family again, after the twins were taken Throk blamed himself for years separating himself from Mala and Dagur. With the twins' return Mala made it a priority to get closer with Throk again.
Dagur opened the door for the others behind him, their home was more alive now than it was before. The three Rescue Riders rooms were filled with stuff, most of it was from the Roost and what they raided from Magnus's home for Axel on the other hand some of it was gifts the twins received when they were young.
