the boy's eyebrows furrow, and you startle as he grabs your hand.

"what's this?" he asks in concern, thumb oh-so gently brushing the fading scar.

you frown slightly, "oh, it's noth-"

"no, it's not nothing, [name]" he gives you a stern look and you blush.

"it's.. just umbridge. she's got this quills that when you write, it cuts into your skin.

cedric's eyes widen in horror, "what?!"

multiple people turn to him, he ignores them.

you shrug slightly, "i know.. but it doesn't seem like there's much we can do, so.." you look to the side.

his eyebrows furrow, and your eyes widen as he pulls you into a hug, your face heating up tremendously.

"she won't get away with this" cedric says with certainty, you just smile up at him.

the two continue breakfast as usual before a cut voice cuts through the hall.

"pardon me, professor, but what exactly are you insinuating?"

everybody goes silent at umbridge's cross voice, all getting up and heading over to where her voice was coming from.

"i am merely requesting that when it comes to my students.. you conform to the prescribed disciplinary practices" mcgonagall says.

you step out, they were both on the stairs.

"so silly of me, but it sounds.. as if you're questioning my authority in my own classroom, minerva" she steps one up ahead of mcgonagall.

"not at all, delores" mcgonagall steps up also, "merely your medieval methods"

you and cedric share a look.

"i am sorry, dear. but to question my practices, is to question the ministry.. and by extension, the minister himself. i am a tolerant woman"

you frown at the absurd statement.

"but the one thing i will not stand for is disloyalty"

mcgonagall steps down one, "disloyalty"

umbridge steps up another, "things at hogwarts are far worse than i feared. cornelius will want to take immediate action.
