harry had had a dream that mr. weasley had been attacked at the ministry, and indeed he had been found and incredibly injured.
thankfully, though, he had recovered enough in time for christmas, where you were permitted to spend at the order of the phoenix.
"ho, ho, ho. merry christmas" a santa figurine on a broom flies passed behind your backs.
"here we go~. daddy's back" mrs. weasley smiles cheerily, helping mr. weasley onto the chair.
you all clap, smiling.
"sit down, everybody, sit down"
you pull out your chair, sitting down comfortably, just glad that mr. weasley was alright after all of that trouble.
"that's it. now, presents" she smiles sweetly, passing one to each of you.
"and a nice big box for ron"
"big box. and, uhm.." she passes two presents between the twins, giving each other one at random.
"come on, open up. i want to see your faces"
despite not being a weasley, you still received a lovely present. it was a cute scarf with cats knitted all over it. you beamed with joy, thanking mrs. weasley.
everyone choruses thank you's and shares smiles.
"come on, then, everybody. let's clear this away"
you scrunch up the wrapping paper, everyone pushes theirs into a bin bag.
everyone pours themselves drinks, sharing cheers and conversation.
you smile.
"everybody got?"
everyone nods.
"a christmas toast" mr. weasley says, "to mr. harry potter.. without whom i would not be here"
everyone raises their glasses at harry, "harry" mr. weasley says.

YOU GRIN, RUSHING ALONGSIDE HERMIONE AND RON NOW THAT YOU WERE ALL BACK AT SCHOOL.
"harry! harry"
you sweat-drop, he was talking with cho.
woops!
"hagrid's back"
you beam, running off with them again.
you all hastily run down the hill and towards hagrid's hut, but you all stop just out the front.
"i will say this one last time"
you frown.
"i'm ordering you to tell me where you've been"
you all peek up from the window, into the hut.
"i told you. i've been away for me health"
hagrid was standing inside, and umbridge was standing in front of him.
"your health?" she questions, peering passed his broad arm, you all duck down slightly.
"yeah. bit of fresh air, you know"
"oh, yes. as gamekeeper, fresh air must be difficult to come by"
you frown deeply.
"if i were you, i shouldn't get to used to being back. in fact, i mightn't bother unpacking at all.
you huff, completely annoyed with umbridge's horrible nature.
you all hide back behind the wall as umbridge steps out of the door with a smile, she breathes in, a sour kind of look overcoming her face.
she takes out some perfume, spraying herself and then making a cross with it over hagrid's door, walking away.

"THIS IS TOP-SECRET, RIGHT?"
you all nod, you sip your bitter tea whilst refraining a grimace.
"dumbledore sent me to parley with the giants"
"giants?" hermione gasps, you all shush her.
"you found them?" she asks.
"well, they're not that hard to find, to be perfectly honest. they're so big, see? i tried to convince 'em to join the cause. but i wasn't the only one that was trying 'o win them over"
"death eaters?"
"yes"
"trying to persuade them to join you-know-who" hagrid nods.
"did they?" harry asks.
"i gave them dumbledore's message. suppose some of them remember he was friendly to them. i suppose"
fang eyes the piece of meat in hagrid's hands.
"and they did this to you?" harry gestures to hagrid's bruised face.
"not exactly, no" he holds the meat to his eyes, fang barks. you frown slightly.
"oh, go on, you have it, then, you dozy dog" he chucks the mat over, fang happily comps on it. you scratch the dog's big head.
you glance down at the floor as some wind picks up, dusting around the leaves and such scattered around the floor.
you all stand up, glancing over to a slightly broken window.
"it's changin' out there. just like last time" hagrid shakes his head, "there's a storm comin', harry. we'd all best be ready when she does"
