Laughter from the men echoed through the air as they mocked Eztia for her apparent foolishness. “And you still did it. How dumb can you be? Better to beg for mercy; you’ll be lucky if our boss is kind enough to give you one.” One of them jeered, the others joined in the ridicule afterwards.
The light blue with honey gradient eyed young woman simply nodded in agreement, playing the role of the naive and defeated prey. “Yes, yes, you’re right, I’m dumb, but…” She trailed off, shifting her gaze to some random point in the distance before letting her expression morph into a mask of shock.
A theatrical gasp escaped her lips as she pointed dramatically at the spot. “What’s that?!” With her eyes wide with faux terror, her voice rang in convincing fear. This ruse of hers prompted the men to snap their heads in the direction of her gaze, their faces filled with alarm as they sought out the supposed danger.
They were clearly unprepared for what came next because before they knew it, Eztia snapped her fingers dramatically, then the world around them was filled with the thunderous sound of heavy objects crashing and thudding to the ground. The impact was loud enough that Eztia had no doubt the others below could hear it too. As the noise subsided, pained groans reached her ears from the group she had just tricked.
Most of the assailants passed out entirely under the weight of the surprise attack, while others struggled to regain their bearings, groaning weakly in pain and confusion.
With a cheeky grin, Eztia looked down at the bewildered and battered men. “Well, I guess you guys are dumber than me.” She quipped in a playful yet dripping with sarcasm tone.
Having effectively diverted their attention and immobilized some of her pursuers, Eztia wasted no time in moving away from the scene with confidence. Her next objective was clear -- find Dooshik and offer any assistance he might need. Despite knowing that he was more than capable of handling the situation on his own, her instincts pushed her to be there in case he required her help.
Meanwhile, Dooshik’s fierce brawl against the assailants continued unabated, fists flying in all directions as he fought valiantly against the group of assailants. He was locked in a whirlwind of combat and he was so focused solely on thwarting their every move. Nevertheless, he appeared unaware of the danger that lurked at the back of him.
One of the men, holding a baseball and ready to strike Dooshik from behind, had malevolent intentions etched across his face. He aimed to catch Dooshik off guard, to strike a decisive blow that would incapacitate him. Dooshik, who just sensed that there was someone behind him, wheeled around and widened his eyes when he saw an image of baseball nearing his head; it was too late for him to dodge it.
But just before the perilous blow could land, a sudden and unexpected voice rang out that cut through the tumultuous scene.
“Feel the pain of my grandpa’s slipper!” The voice exclaimed with an unusual mix of seriousness and absurdity.
A resounding smack followed, a sharp and echoing sound that reverberated through the confrontation. It was a smack of such force that it momentarily halted the entire fight, freezing the assailants in their tracks. Their attention was arrested by the bizarre exclamation and the ensuing commotion.
The baseball-wielding assailant who had been hit by the slipper turned around in surprise due to wanting to see the audacious person who had intervened, only to get yet another extremely brutal smack with another slipper to his face to the point that the assailant crumpled to the ground, unconscious.
