I got ready for school, slinging my bag over my shoulder.

I put one headphone in, hopping into my new car poppa got me.

I drove over to school, and parked near the entrance,

I quickly got to my locker, grabbing my books and needed things.

Walking to my first class, Chem. this is gonna be fun, playing with fire.

I walked out to my car, and hopped in.

My phone started ringing, and I picked it up.

"Yellow?"

"Purple?"

I laughed at the color joke.

"Haha Tony. What up?"

"Oh, well, I was wondering if you wanted to go out for icecream later."

"Totally! Sure. That'd be great."

"Cool. I'll see you at 7:30?"

"Cool. Sounds like an ice cream date."

"What?"

"Nothing." I quickly said covering up for what I just said. I can't believe I just said that.

"Ok, bye. See ya later."

Lela was in the car, hearing the whole conversation.

She smirked at me. "What?"

"Is there something you need to tell me my dear best friend?"

I tilted my head in faked confusion. I knew exactly what she was talking about.

She rolled her eyes. "Ugh, dude, y'all think I'm stupid? I know you guys chose that scary movie so id call it off just so you could spend the night together. I know you guys ditch my shopping to go hang out all the time. Dude, it's as cliche as it can get. You love the punk childhood best friend that lives next door, dude, that's like combining the boy next door with like every possible cliche couple book ever. He loves you too."

I just sat there jaw down, and my phone was still on. Meaning, that Tony just heard Lela and I's full conversation.

I looked at the phone in my lap, and put my hands on my head.

"Shit..." She clicked the hang up button, and I looked at her, no longer very surprised. "God, always check to make sure I actually hang up the phone before you blabber about us!!!"

I burst after a few moments.
"Oops... Well, actually, no. I'm not sorry. That was NOT a mistake for him to have known that. You guys both needed to get a clear picture that you're both in love with each other." She shrugged it off casually.
"Ok, well, what do you think is going to happen tonight now that he heard, and knows that I heard? Will it be awkward? I hope not..."

"It won't be. Trust me."

I raised an eyebrow, "okay... I hope nothing too awkward happens."

I walked towards Tony's house, knocking on his door at exactly 7:30.

He came right to the door.

"Hey. Let's go."

I smiled warmly at him, and we walked side by side to the park where they kept an all summer ice cream shop.

"What can I help you kids with?"

We ordered out ice cream, and started walking around the park. We settled on the swings. I was eating my ice cream, and slightly swinging my swing with my feet.

"Uhm, Carlie... I asked if you wanted to go out for ice cream as an actual ice cream date. Do you want to go on a real date?"

I smiled, and nodded. "Yeah, sure why not."

He smiled back, nodding.

And we walked back home joking about a few of the little kids we saw at the park.
