The Impala's growl faded as the car came to a stop. The three hunters climbed out in unison, their faces illuminated briefly by the glow of the streetlights. Dean quickly moved to the trunk, digging through their arsenal before revealing three tasers, the tension in his shoulders palpable.

"What do you got those amped up to?" Sam questioned, his voice low.

"A hundred thousand volts." Dean answered. "I want this rawhead extra frickin' crispy. And remember, you only get one shot with these things. So make it count." He said before slamming the trunk closed.

Kat didn't say a word, her eyes scanning the daunting abandoned house that stood in front of them. She gripped the taser, her heart already pounding.

They entered the house quickly, carefully rounding every corning and inspecting each room. Eventually they made their way to the basement door, and descended the creaking steps, their flashlights slicing through the thick darkness.

They heard a faint noise coming from a cupboard to the left of them, each quickly turned their flashlights towards it, weapons at the ready.

Dean nodded to his brother and Kat. "On three. One...Two... Three." He counted down before swinging open the cupboard door, revealing two frightened children crouched inside.

Kat quickly bent down, looking the children over for any obvious injuries. "Is it still here?" She asked them in a whisper.

The children nodded in reponse, their wide eyes darting to the shadows.

Kat glanced at Dean and Sam before tucking her taser in her belt and grabbing each of the kids hands. "Okay, come on." She said, leading them to the stairs with Sam and Dean trailing behind her.

They quickly scurried up a few steps, "You're gonna' be okay. Just keep moving." She said, but the words barely made it out of her mouth when a hand lunged out of the dark, grabbing Sam's leg and yanking him down. The children screamed and scattered up the stairs.

Kat quickly turned around, "Sam!"

Dean spun and fired his taser but missed, the crackling sound of electricity echoing. "Go! Get them outta here!" He yelled to Kat.

She tossed him her taser, "Here, take this!" She said before helping Sam to his feet.

As Kat and Sam went after the children, Dean moved deeper into the basement, the dim beam of his flashlight barely penetrating the blackness.

Suddenly the rawhead erupted from the shadows, slamming into Dean and sending him sprawling. As the creature came at him again he scrambled across the water slicked ground, finally grabbing the taser and firing.

The rawhead convulsed, its body sparking as it collapsed, but the water carried the current straight to Dean. His body jerked violently, the electricity running through his veins and knocking him unconscious.

Sam ran back down the stairs, spotting his brother on the ground. "Dean!"

Kat followed, her breath catching when she saw Dean's lifeless form crumpled in the corner. She raced to him, dropping to her knees.

Sam lifted him, cradling his face, and trying to wake him. Kats hands trembled as she pressed her fingers to his neck, searching for a pulse.

"Dean, Dean, come on. Wake up." She said, the world narrowing around her. Her heartbeat thundered in her ears and for a split second, all she could hear was the sound of her own ragged breathing.

"Sam, call 911!" She ordered, her voice cracking, tears pricking her eyes.

Sam blinked, overcome with shock, he pulled out his cell and began dialing.
