Everyone waited impatiently as the clock ticked. Every second was one step closer to summer break, one step closer out of this hellhole.

One more minute, just one more minute and I will be free.

I tapped my foot rapidly against the floor, as the last and final minute felt like a century.

And then it happened. The sound we've all been waiting for, finally approaching its destination. Everything seemed to slow down, papers flew, and desk flipped. The janitors won't have a good time cleaning that up. But who cares, cause it's finally the end of our junior year of high school. One more year of hell, and it will all be over... Well almost.

People ran out of the classroom at full speed, some slipped from the paper that was scattered all over the floor.

"Ready Nate?" My best friend Jasmine asked, as we both walked side by side out of the classroom.

I knew she wasn't talking about summer yet, but something else that was really important. The big reveal.

I made a promise to myself that once school was over and the summer began, that I would tell my parents who I really am.

"You can always live with me if you don't, you know."

"Get accepted, I know" I finished. "And thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Are you sure you're parents won't mind some extra company?"

"My parents wouldn't mind, they love everyone!! When I came out as bisexual, they looked past my sexuality.  And if you stay with us, you'll be treated like family. Not bragging or anything but remember, my parents got money. So if you want something, just ask."

My head was hurting just thinking about my parents disowning me, and moving on. It just wasn't right. And having my best friend supporting me all the way, already one step in front of me, it's.. it's amazing.

"Don't feel so down Nate" she said, patting me on the back. "Just know that if your parents really loved you, they would look past your sexuality, and see you for you."

"Thanks, that means a lot."

I gave her a quick hug before parting ways.

"You want a ride home, I'll be glad to take you?"

I stopped and thought for a moment. Would I enjoy the peaceful ride home with my friend, or the raging loudness of the bus?

"Sure, why not?"

She giggled a little then told me to get in the car.

"So" Jasmine began keeping her eyes on the road. "Don't be surprised, if your parents are surprised."

I couldn't help but laugh. "Why not?"

"Well I'm just putting my mind in the times where sexuality was a big deal. So when you tell your parents they maybe surprised, because you are a very handsome boy."

I could see her face blush a little from saying that last line. She was pretty looking herself. Her long brunette hair flowed with the wind. Her perfectly clear skin shined from the sun. I can't see why she can't find a boyfriend or a girlfriend.

"You're blushing!" I teased her, pointing at her cheeks.

"Oh shut up Nate" She started to giggle. "My parents were surprised too, and we all had a good laugh in the end."

"I bet they did" I agreed, looking out the window, as the streets were full of kids and teens.

The rest of the ride was silence, mostly because we didn't have anything else to discuss. A few minutes later, we approached my suburban neighborhood.

"And we are here" she announced, as she pulled up to the 2 story suburban style house.

"Thanks for the ride" I said, unbuckling my seatbelt.

"Good luck" she called out right when I was getting out the car.

We both waved goodbye, as she was pulling out, away from our house.

I took a deep breath, before unlocking the door.

As soon as I walked in my mom was there, which sent me into panic mood. She wasn't suppose to be her in another 20 minutes.

"Hey mom" I responded, giving her a hug.

"Is dad home?" I asked, looking around to anymore surprises.

"Yup, he's upstairs" she answered. "Is something wrong?"

I took a deep breath. "Yes, and I don't think you're gonna like it."

"James, your son wants to talk about something!" She yelled from the living room.

"Be down in a second!" he yelled back.

We walked into the living room, and I sat on the couch, while my mom stood up with her hands crossed.

Uh-oh, does she already know? Should I just lie and say that I was just kidding? So many questions with little answers as always.

I heard footsteps coming down the stairs and soon my father was in the living room.

"So son, what do you have to tell us?"
