"Thank you for helping me move in!" Joshua said as you carried the last box from the truck into his house. "It's ok! Do you need help with anything else?" You asked, hoping he would need you to help him with something. Very few people knew about your crush on Joshua. You had known him for years, meeting in elementary school. "No, it's ok! I'll text you if need anything ok? You should go home now, you need some rest." Joshua said, nudging you in your arm. You greeted each other goodbye and walked away.
"Seokmin ah-, I don't know what to do anymore! Is he blind? Everyone says I make it so obvious!" You complained to Seokmin. "Noona! Don't worry about him! He'll realise his feelings soon, trust me! Noona, what could he not see in you?" He tried to console you, but nothing would work. As the radiant sun slowly began to set, Seokmin left for vocal practice, leaving you in the dark. You started to walk back to your house, heart heavy in your hand.
"I brought food!" You yelled as you entered the practice room. All the boys cheered as you began handing out the lunch boxes you had prepared for them. "Thank you!" They yelled as they opened the lunch boxes, each with a little note inside. "To someone that acts like my little brother ; Hwaiting! I love you ヽ(*≧ω≦)ﾉ!¡" Dino yelled, tackling you to the ground with a hug. "GROUP HUG!" Jeonghan yells. Everyone jumps on top of you and Jeonghan, squealing like little kids. Everyone starts eating, praising your efforts in making the delicious food. Seokmin raises an eyebrow at Joshua, both of them leaving the room. You wanted to listen to what they were talking to. You excused yourself and went to the bathroom, listening to what they were talking about.
"Have you considered __________ noona?" Seokmin asked. "As in a relationship? It would be as if I'm dating my little sister. Even though we're one year apart, I'd be uncomfortable." Joshua answered. You didn't even bother to listen to the rest of their conversation as your heart crushed into millions of pieces. Tears threatened to overflow as those same words repeated over and over again in your head. After five minutes of trying to silence your sobbing, you fixed your makeup and walked out. As you were walking, you spotted the pair still talking. You accidentally walked into the wall, as an attempt of trying to get out faster.
You were about to walk off when Seokmin grabbed your wrist and pulled you towards the door. You started to break down, him pulling you into a hug. Your hand was gripping his tshirt as you sobbed. "__________ noona? Did you listen to what hyung and I were talking about?" Seokmin whispered, trying not to cause you to sob even harder. You silently nodded into his chest as he stroked your hair. "Yah! What did you do to make __________ cry?" Joshua asks, walking up to you two.
"J-J-Joshua, don't w-worry, it's f-fine." You managed to stutter out. "We've been friends since elementary school. Do you not expect me to know when you're lying? I know it's not fine." He said, pulling you into a hug, his chin resting atop of your head. Seokmin walked away as Joshua tried to comfort you. "Can you tell me what's wrong?" He asked, you breaking down into more tears. He pulled you to an empty practice room and comforted you. "I-I-I-I LIKE YOU OK? THE ONLY REASON I'VE BEEN FEELING THIS WAY IS BECAUSE I HEARD WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT ME NEAR THE BATHROOM! I DON'T WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE YOUR LITTLE SISTER ANYMORE!" You yelled, sobbing into more tears. You ran out of the room into the practice room everyone else was in to grab your bag.
"NOONA! LET ME IN!" Seokmin yelled from outside. After the incident, you ran home and bawled your eyes out. You walked out of the room and opened the door. Immediately he pulled you into a hug, tears starting to overflow. Moments later you were in bed with a huge tub of chocolate ice cream with Seokmin comforting you on the side while watching a Miracle in Cell 7. "W-W-WHY DID HE HAVE TO GET KILLED?" You both sobbed. Many tears, ice cream and dramas later, Seokmin left, leaving you in an empty apartment.
"Meet me by Han River tonight at 8 - Joshua" The text popped up from your phone. No matter how much you didn't want to go, you decided to go anyways. You wore a baby blue dress with a cardigan to match. You decided to put in a bit more effort and did your makeup. It was hard trying to cover up your swollen eyes, and of top of that your dark circles from not sleeping well.
"What do you want? I'm cold and it's supposed to be summer." You found him sitting on a bench. You were shivering, holding onto your cardigan. He took off his jacket and put it around you. "Listen. I never wanted to ruin anything between us. I can't lose you. You've always been there for me. I want to be the one who holds you when you cry, the one that wipes your tears away, the one who's there for you. I know I've hurt you more than ever but if you give me a chance, I promise I'll make it up to you." He said. You didn't know what to say. Despite him breaking your heart, he was your best friend. The one who was always there for you. In the end, you were silent for a while. "I'm really sorry. I'll get going now." He took your silence as a queue to leave. You grabbed onto his wrist and he pulled you into a hug, taking in his scent, some high you could never get enough of. He kissed your forehead, then pulled you in closer for a sweet kiss.
