Chapter 2: Third and Fourth Wheel

As you were practicing your Violin in your room, you saw your timer go off and you stopped for a bit to drink some water. As you drank, you had a flashback of when you had that meltdown, which turns out to have just been in your head since your mother didn't see anything unusually at that time.

"Sorry," you said, looking at your favorite picture. "Just with all the practice and recitals and events to attend, it was a bit hard on my mind, but I'm better and got to make new friends. Even Tenko, who I'm starting to remember was the girl you were talking about quite a long time ago when you attended an Aikido class with her for a short while."

You then grabbed your backpack and received a text from your mother.

"Yuri, your grandmother has confirmed that you may have the day off. That wonderful performance you put on last weekend has her in a good mood," it read. "Keep up your hard work. Make sure to be eating and sleeping properly. Your health needs to be maintained. Stay safe."

You put away your phone and left your room, where you found yourself walking around town and look around before you saw Tenko walking next to an upbeat girl and a boy who seems to be a little shy. You grow concerned that Tenko might be a third wheel or trying to make sure that the boy doesn't get too close to the girl.

Tenko: "How nice to see you again, Yuri."

"And you two must be Shuichi Saihara and Kaede Akamatsu."

Shuichi: "That is correct. Wow, you must be informed on who people are."

Kaede: "No need to be embarrassed Shuichi. It's nice to see a fellow Music Ultimate."

"Likewise. So, what brings your three hanging together?"

Tenko: "Oh, Kaede says she was hanging out with Shuichi, and I'm here to make sure nothing funny happens. I do trust Shuichi, just can't look over the possibility that he'll crush Kaede's heart. And yes, I am most likely just being dramatic, but still."

"Well, mind if I tag along? I'd like to see the places you might be going to."

Shuichi: "Why not. I'd like to hear about your talent and your performances in person."

"Yeah, everyone wants to. I wish I could talk to them all, but I'm just one person."

Tenko: "No worries, Yuri. As long as you know people like these two, then that might be all you need."

You followed the three and noticed how much Shuichi and Kaede seem to enjoy talking to each other.

Tenko: "You okay?"

"Yeah. Just noticed how those two seem to enjoy each other's company."

Tenko: "Yeah, they're a pair of lovebirds. I wasn't that welcoming of it because I had my suspicions of Shuichi, but he turned out to be a genuinely good person, so I let them give it a go."

"Shuichi is pretty lucky to be with Kaede. She is pretty easy on the eyes."

Tenko: "Give yourself more credit Yuri. You're pretty cute."

"Oh, uh. Thank you, Tenko."

Tenko let go of your neck and put her hand on your shoulder. Shuichi took a glance at yur and begins to notice that something about "you" is off from what he remembers.
