Pete's Pov

He claimed every inch of me- his lips exploring mine, his kisses trailing fire down my neck, his mouth teasing my nipples, and his body thrusting into me with fervent passion. Beneath the blanket of our shared warmth, our slick, sweaty bodies pressed together, while my nails drew crescents into the taut skin of his back.

"Ahhh… Vegas…" My voice trembled in the air, a moan spilling forth as the mingling of our fluids formed a sticky feeling against our entwined forms.

"Pete… ahhh, fuck!" Vegas groaned as his release broke inside me like a wave. His weight collapsed onto my chest and our breaths mingled in silence. We stayed in that moment, letting the scent and heat of sex envelop us like an embrace.

"I love you." I murmured softly, my lips brushing tender kisses along his shoulder. Vegas lifted his head from the hollow of my neck, his eyes burning with affection, and pressed his lips sweetly against mine.

"I love you too." He whispered against my mouth. With a soft growl, he withdrew his cock from me, leaving behind a bittersweet ache, and rolled to lie beside me. He turned me to face his chest and his strong arms encircled me. Exhaustion tethered us to the bed, too spent to rise and cleanse ourselves of the aftermath of our love.

The worry over the missing bodyguard is shadowing his peace. Two days had passed, and though he’d said nothing to me about the issue, I got a short description from Nop. I wanted to be his solace, for I alone could ease the turmoil within him. And so, we’d lost ourselves in the raw intimacy of love for three unbroken hours.

Even as concern for Venice tugged at my mind, the thought of Mac and Sai watching over him comforted me. In this moment, Vegas needed me more than anyone else in the world.

"Why such a long face, honey?" Vegas asked softly as his fingers threaded gently through my hair.

"Oh… nothing." I replied, smiling faintly, leaning up to press a fleeting kiss to his lips.

“Tell me, love… What is it?”

“Vegas?” I called out softly.

“Mmm?” He hummed in reply.

“Who attacked you in Korea? Did you ever find out?” This question has haunted me since I learned about the attack. I had hoped Vegas would explain on his own, but his silence leaves me no choice but to ask.

“As usual… Papa’s enemies.” Vegas said, clicking his tongue with disdain.

“They tried to take your life in South Korea. That means they’ve been watching you, tracking your every move.”

“You don’t need to worry, honey. They’re gone now.” Vegas said, trying to sound indifferent.

“How did you manage it?” I pressed, the knot in my stomach tightening.

“I’ve always known Papa’s enemies were relentless, their hatred burning even beyond his death. That’s why I made sure to prepare. I arranged for some trusted people to protect me, along with Kai. They did their job well. That’s all.” Vegas replied, his fingers gently caressing my hair.

“From the moment you mentioned the business trip to Korea, a quiet fear took root in my mind. It stayed with me until you returned safely to my arms. Now, knowing my fears weren’t unfounded, I can’t shake off this fear from my head.” My voice quivered as I spoke, and Vegas, with a soft smile, reached out to caress my cheek.

“You always worry about me, my love. I see that, I feel that. But I promise you, no one can break me, no matter how many enemies rise against us. Your prayers are my strength, and I won’t let anyone harm our family. I’ll protect us with everything I have.”
