15 - A Hangout

Still sleeping…

"Is that a knock?"

Slowly leaving the bed, Yuuki sleepily walks over to the door to open it. The knockings are recent – in fact it's right now – and it woke him up from his comfortable sleep. Now, who could be on the other side of the door, is it Charles or Flora? He wipes his eyes clean as he lazily opens the door. With only his right eye open, he keeps his sight at the head-height of eyesight and he finds– Flora, don in a track clothes.

"Oh, you're still sleepy. Freshen up yourself first then we get going," Flora says. "I'll be downstairs waiting."

The girl heads downstairs to… uh, what was it about again? Get going? Get going…

Yuuki's sleepiness hampers his remembrance of what Flora said just now. Instead of trying to remember, he heads inside the bathroom to wash his face and brush his teeth. Now he looks fresher, well, his face at least. After that, a good chug of his still-cold glass of water in one go. It was heavenly. But even though he feels awake, his sleepiness lingers still.

Yuuki puts on his hoodie and cargo shorts before following Flora downstairs. They're both ready for… for what again? He attempts to properly recall what he and Flora were going to do.

Last night after dinner, Flora talked about going on a hangout with her friends and Yuuki can come along. If the weather is friendly, they'll go on foot on the streets, otherwise they'll be stuck doing karaoke for hours until the rain subsides. Yuuki accepted the invitation and they agreed to go together tomorrow morning. After that, they walked together to their bedrooms for tomorrow's hangout. Unfortunately, Yuuki went out and spent the entire night gazing at the supermoon. It was a spectacular sight, though. But thanks to this, he got home really late and didn't get enough sleep, and continued to feel sleepy throughout the ride until they arrived at the park. Fortunately though, he drove safely and was alert enough of his surroundings.

After parking the car, Flora and Yuuki walk to a small group of girls of similar age to them.

"Hi!" Flora says, as all the girls within that group simultaneously shouts Flora's name. "Flora!!!"

Flora and the girls greet each other excitedly as they all immerse in their lovely friendly meeting. Meanwhile, Yuuki stands still as he watches this lively moment and smiles. He's glad that they're so friendly and close with each other.

"Hey Yuuki, come here!" Flora gestures to Yuuki to come over to her.

Yuuki shyly walks towards the group, subtly grabbing the hem of his shirt. He feels nervous about being introduced to new people.

"So this is your friend? Hello~" says one of the girls.

"Hm." Yuuki nods and answers for himself.

"Yes. This is Yuuki." Flora adds. "Please be easy towards him, he can be quite nervous around new people."

The girls greet and welcome Yuuki gently and friendlily. He still feels shy but relieved knowing that they are good people; though he still needs to get used around them. Flora stands beside Yuuki to assure him that he is okay and secure, and to better familiarize him with the girls as they all have short conversations with each other, mostly introductory and general talks. Soon, the girls prepare and put on their roller skates and safety gears. As Flora puts on hers, she looks over to Yuuki standing idle.
