Chapter 7.

I'm speeding the story up by 2 months just so I can add some stuff in but other than that enjoy- Shay

Kehlani.

I carried the last small box inside the house and looked at Aug while letting out a deep breath.

"Are you sure that's it Aug?"

"Yeah bae that's it, the movers will bring everything else in."

"Good." I said as I climbed up on the kitchen counter.

"Get yo ass down we gotta cook food on that." He said laughing.

"You don't cook on the counter August and besides I was gonna clean everything later anyway."

He walked over to me wrapping his arms around my waist and lightly kissing my neck.

"August really? We just moved in."

"Yes really what us just moving in hea' gotta do with me kissing on my baybeh."

"August I'm tired."

"You always tired baybeh." He said placing his hands on either sides of me.

"Well I've been busy moving down here, trying to find a job, then getting all of our stuff together to move in here and Kennedy's a little handful right now so.....yeah I'm tired." I sighed.

"Well we don't have ta' unpack tonight and Chandra watching Kennedy so how about I take you somewhere nice."

"That sounds great babe but-"

"Nope don't wanna hear it. Go get ready." He said as he pecked my lips.

August.

I finally got myself a house and my baybeh moving in with me. It took me almost a month just to convince her to move but everything worked out and she's here. Lani got to graduate early due to all the extra credits she had and was now dedicated all the way to her music. As for me, I decided to stop selling for good. The only thing that made me stop was thinking about how Kennedy would turn out if her daddy was in jail or dead and how Lani would be affected if she lost me.

Lani and Kennedy's relationship has really grown over the past 2 months. Lani is holding, feeding, burping, and playing with Kennedy more than I am these days and that's only because I found a job at a record label as a assistant. When I told Lani about it she damn near begged me to take it.

I was leaning on the kitchen table when Lani came downstairs in some black skinny jeans, a black shirt, and some black and white Vans. My baybeh can wear the most simple outfits and still look sexy.

Kehlani.

"Baby where are we going?" I whined.

"Don't worry about it just know you gonna love it."

Me and August had been in the car for almost a hour and a half and I was ready to get out. He wouldn't tell me where we were going all he kept saying was I'm gonna love it. Since it didn't seem like we were stopping anytime soon I layed my head against the window and fell asleep.

"Aight bae wake up." August said as he gripped my thigh.

I opened my eyes a little noticing it was night time. When we got out the car we were at a park, as we walked closer I saw there was rose petals and candles lit all over the place, there was also a giant projector screen front of us.

"Aug,all of this is for us?"

"Nah all this is for you baby."

I sat down on the picnic blanket that was laid out as something appeared on the screen. One by one I saw my aunt, both of my sisters, Eddie, and some of my other friends pop up on the screen and they all said the same thing.

"We love and miss you Lani."

When the video stopped I had tears rolling down my eyes partly because I was a little homesick and partly because Aug was so thoughtful to put this together. I turned to him and cried a little harder as he leaned over and held me.

"I love you baybeh." He said as I looked up in disbelief.

"I love you too baby."

August.

By the time me and Lani got home we were both tired as hell but since we had just moved in and the bed hadn't been delivered yet we were forced to sleep on the couch. It was ok though because we talked about her family and my family, our childhoods, and our future together. I know we only been together for 7 months but I had a thing for her and I know she had a thing for ne too.

I layed in her lap while she played in my hair and before I knew it she had dozed off so I put my phone on the charger and soon asleep after her.

Kehlani.

I woke up with Aug still laying on me sleeping like a little baby U didn't wanna wake him so I moved his head gently and got up quietly.

I went upstairs took my shower and put on some leggings and a t-shirt. I decided to go pick Kennedy up so Aug could get some rest.

When I pulled up to Chandra's house I was greeted by Kayden.

"Laniiiiii." She squealed as she ran to me.

"Hey KayKay how you doing baby girl?"

"I'm good but where's uncle Aug." She said looking into the car.

"He's still at home sleeping. Where's your mommy?"

"She's in the house with the baby."

It was only 7:45 but I knew Kennedy was already up and when she wakes up the whole house wakes up with her.

"Hey Cha, my princess give you any trouble?"

"Nope she only cried when she wanted something and when she woke up at 6:00."

"She doesn't normally wake up that early but I guess she wanted to today."

"Yeah I guess so but I just fed her so she should be sleeping soon."

I rocked Kennedy until she went to sleep and talked to Chandra until she asked me a strange question.

"How you dealing with all of this Lani?"

"All of what?"

"You know who I'm talking about." She said glancing over at Kennedy.

"Oh at first I didn't think I would be able to handle it but when Aug assured me of everything I was fine."

"Oh ok, you found a job yet?"

"Nope I'm still looking why?"

"My salon has a opening for a wash girl I was wondering if you would like to take it."

"Of course I would Cha, thank you so much."

"No problem lil sis you like family now anyway and family helps each other out."

"So when can I start?"

"Well you have to get a interview first but since I own the shop now that won't be neccessary so all you have to do is come in and fill out some papers Monday and you can start then."

"Ok sounds great but what about Kennedy because Aug works during the day too and I don't think he wants her going to daycare."

"She can come to the shop. We have a little built in daycare for the clients children anyway."

"Aww thank you Chandra, for real."

"No need to keep thanking me just show up Monday." She said as she laughed.

I smiled to myself thinking about how everything was working out. I have the man I want, we're in a house we love and I'm raising a beautiful little girl as our own. Things were finally coming around.
