Chapter 24.

Kehlani.

I sat in the bed scrolling through Instagram when Aug appeared in the doorway.

"Hey baybeh."

"August where have you been I've been trying to reach you all night."

"I had to take a customer home and my phone died so I didn't see you had called."

"Since when do you start taking women home?" I asked with a confused look.

"I didn't want her on the street. I was being nice." He sighed.

"So you was being nice for 2 extra hours?"

"She invited me in when I told her my phone was dead so I charged it up and left." He said as he took his shirt off.

"That better had been the only thing to get 'charged up'." I mumbled.

"Kehlani how many times I gotta tell you I'm not going to cheat on you." He said as he turned around to look at me.

"I love you and only you okay?"

"Okay."

I watched as he climbed into the bed and wrapped his arms around me holding me close.

"I love you." He whipered in my ear.

"I love you too." I said before falling to sleep.

August.

Since me and Lani were both off today I figured we would have fun but she had other plans.

"Oohh August this cake is beautiful." She cooed as we walked through the store.

"As long as it taste good it could look like a rock to me." I laughed as she playfully hit my chest.

"Hi I'm Rose and welcome to Emperor Cakes how may I help you today?" The lady behind the counter said.

I watched as Lani told her we were engaged and I saw how her face lit up letting me know that she was truly happy to be getting married.

"Okay well I'll have my assistant bring out some samples and we can start from there." Rose said as she walked to the back of the store.

When her assistant walked out I froze because I knew exactly who she was.

Miracle.

"Oh um hello you two welcome to Emperor Cakes. The flavors we have today are Chocolate,Red Velvet,German Chocolate, and our special Caramel Truffle Cake." She said as she sat the plates down and looked in my direction.

"Thanks this looks delicious." Lani said looking at her.

We ate the samples and talked a little before we decided on which one we wanted. We walked to the counter and waited to place our order which was taken by Miracle.

Kehlani.

"Ok so that will be a triple german chocolate layer cake with a cake topper?" Rose's assistant asked.

"Yes please." I said as I watched how she was looking at August.

"Okay your reciept will be sent to you shortly, have a nice day." She said as she smiled politely.

"You do the same." I said as I prepared to leave out of the store when she said something else that caught my attention.

"Bye August. I'll see you soon."

And without warning I turned back around and went to the counter and asked her if she knew him.

"Well me and him met at Vex the other night and-" She paused as she started to laugh.

"And what?" I spoke as I motioned for her to continue on."

"He drove me home and we talked and drank then he told me he had to leave but he forgot to mention he was engaged." She said with a smirk on her face.

"I told you about 10 times I was engaged." Aug added.

"Nope didn't tell me a thing. Must've been one of those other girls you were talking to." She said as I gave Aug the side eye before leaving out of the store.

August.

"Look lemme' tell you something I don't what you thought you were just doing but it's not gonna work." I demanded as I pointed at her.

"I was just trying to tell her what happened."

"You know damn well I told you I was engaged. Don't play with me." I said as I left out of the store.

When I got in the car I knew I had some explaining to do.

"Baybeh she was lying." I sighed as I touched her thigh.

"I know." She said blankly.

"You do?" I asked as I looked at her.

"Yeah it was all over her face but I don't want you serving her drinks anymore."

"I won't bae I'll get somebody else to take over that side of the bar."

"Oh and another thing we have to look for another cake place."

"I know." I chuckled as I pulled out of the parking lot.

People always trying to keep me and my baybeh apart I don't know why since we both ain't going no where.
