We had just visited the T-Rex kingdom when a brilliant idea had popped into my head.
"You guys want to go to the gyrospheres?" I ask, looking between the boys.
Zach tilts his head in confusion and Gray's eyes light up.
"Yeah!" He says, bouncing on his toes.
I giggle as Gray takes off for the monorail, and me and Zach follow.
I walk next to Zach at a moderate pace for my short legs.
"So, whats a ginoside?" He asks, looking at me. I let out a loud laugh.
"It's actually pronounced Gyrosphere," I say, and he looks down in embarrassment.
"And it's basically a hamster ball you drive around to get a better look at our herbivores," I explain, looking over to him.
"Sounds pretty cool," He says and looks down at me.
"So, what is it like being Claire's assistant?" He asks, trying to keep the conversation going as we neared the monorail.
I shrug and look down at my feet as we walk. "It's alright I guess," I start.
"What do you do?" He questions, nudging me with his shoulder. I smile and look up at him.
"I basically go on coffee runs, schedule meetings, take notes at her meetings, etcetera," I say as we climb on the monorail to see Gray had saved a seat for both of us.
We sit down next to Gray, carrying on the conversation.
"Do you like it?" Zach asks, shifting so his arm was on the back of my seat. I let out a little sigh.
"Honestly, no," I confess, looking at my feet.
"When I applied here I applied for a position to work with the herbivores," I say, looking up at him once again. His eyes were almost glued to mine.
"But I got stuck with this job," I say, gesturing to my attire. I was wearing black legging capris, a gray blazer and a white tank top. To top it all off, my signature Converse Claire didn't exactly approve of.
I heard him chuckle beside me.
"But I love being on the island, so I can't really ask for much," I finish, looking out the window.
"I think you'll get there someday," Gray pipes. I look down and smile at him.
"Thanks Gray," I say, ruffling his hair. I hear some giggling behind me, and I look to see Zach flirting with the girls behind us. I quietly grumble and cross my arms.
He probably didn't even pay attention to what I said when I got on the monorail. I felt jealousy grow through me, but I push it away.
"Hadley?" Gray asks, with tear filled eyes. I look down and shift myself so I'm facing him.
"What's wrong buddy?" I whisper, pushing some hair out of his eyes. He sniffles and looks down.
"I-I think our parents are getting divorced," He says, looking out the window. A tear streams down his face.
This gets Zach's attention. "What? No they're not," He denies, shaking his head.
"They are getting mail from two different lawyers," He says. Zach sighs.
"They are divorce lawyers," Gray whispers, more tears falling on his cheek.
Zach's eyes narrow and I hold up a hand as a signal for him to shut his mouth. He looks at me with his eyes narrowed but his mouth stayed closed.
"Okay now Gray, listen to me. You need to push the thought of them divorcing away. I mean, c'mon, your at Jurassic World! With dinosaurs! When you get back, have Zach sit them down and talk to them okay? He's gonna take care of this, because he's a good brother. I can tell," I say, looking over to Zach to find him already looking at me with wide eyes and a ghost of a smile.
Gray smiled and gave me a huge bear hug. "Thanks Hadley," I chuckle and look out the window. There were two ACU vans driving along the dirt road, but I brushed off as the monorail came to a stop.
I look over to see Zach standing up and stretching his arms. His shirt lifted to where I got a glimpse of his toned stomach. I felt mesmerized, my eyes wide.
"Hadley? You okay?" Gray asked me, shaking my shoulder. I looked to see Zach smirking as our eyes met. I blushed deeply and got out of the seat, taking Gray's hand in my own. He leads me off the monorail, and Zach walks up next to me. I avoid eye contact, and let Gray drag me along.
We skipped to the front of the line, and waited for a three seated Gyrosphere, and I glance at Zach to see him staring at some girls in front of the line across from us.
I scoff, getting the attention of Gray.
"What's wrong Hadley?" He asks, as my eyes flick between Zach and the giggling girls.
He pulls me down to his level and whispers in my ear, "You like him, don't you?"
I stand up and look at him with wide eyes and a red face. He grins. "You do!" He exclaims.
"She what?" Zach asks, popping his head right next to mine. I glare at Gray, and he looks at Zach with a devilish smirk which I see through but Zach doesn't.
Zach shrugs, and turns his attention back to the girls. I sigh, and look at my shoes once again.
I feel a nudge at Gray, and I look up to see him wink at me.
He walks up next to his brother, and says loudly, "Is staring at them going to get you anywhere?"
I bust out laughing, while the girls get into a Gyrosphere and set off. I settle down to giggling and walk up behind Gray and throw my arm around him, while smirking at Zach.
He raises his eyebrows in amusement. He looks me up and down, and mouths 'game on' with a smirk.
I roll my eyes with a little smile, as our gyrosphere rolls up.
