The bell chimed at the entrance as the rich smell of coffee filled my lungs, the warm atmosphere embracing, hiding me away from the cold air as I closed the door.
He walked up to the counter and took in the familiar lo-fi music which blends in with the soft hums of near by conversation and the clink mugs.
As he approaches closer, the barista shares a warm smile upon his arrival to which he reciprocates, feeling a small sense of comfort in the familiar exchange. Before he reaches the counter, a tap on his shoulder shifts his focus, he turns around to see a familiar face he hasn't seen in 7 years, smiling at him with the same softhearted eyes— eyes he hadn't realized how much he's missed, "Dream", he murmurs, his voice as soft as a breath, as if he's speaking to no one but myself.
Dream's face relaxes, he looks relieved at the fact George still remembers his name, "George, I didn't expect to see you here." The rush of memories flood George's mind and suddenly, its as if he's 17 all over again.
He stares at the familiar face, blinking at the taller while trying to find the right words, "I could say the same for you," George lets a small yet genuine smile creep onto his lips, causing Dream to softly exhale, admiring the once common smile he would see daily during his teenage years.
"How have you been?" Dream inquired, prompting George to squint his eyes in thought before responding, "Well...Why don't you buy me a Latte and we can catch up." George speaks with a tender smile laying at his lips.
Dream smiles and exhales in what appears to be relief, "I would love that."
