A/N Guys, sorry for the long hold, I've been going through a lot in the past couple of months. But holy crap 2.71k reads! You guys are frickin amazing!
Lana's POV
"Well it looks like our little holiday is over, at least for now. Clark, you need to find out more about David's agenda." I told him.
"What about you? I can't just leave you here alone, it's too risky." he replied.
"I'll have to stay back and try to locate Oliver and Tess."
"No, Lana, I can't let you do that. He knows your weakness, knows my weakness. It's too dangerous."
"I'm not putting Oliver Queen on the backburner. I will not let this become another Lex Luthor situation. Clark, Oliver has as much power as Lex, if not more. Are you really just gonna let him get the upper hand just to protect me?"
"I will do whatever I have to, to protect you. Finding him can wait."
"No, you don't understand. The longer we put this off, the higher the chance of him coming back and picking us off. First you, then me, then maybe Chloe and Jimmy. This has to be handled now."
"It would be a wiser decision to drop it now and handle it when the time is right. We're trying to do too much at once. We can't let vengeance blind us, just as it has blinded Oliver. He's the one that ran away. We have time."
I pursed my lips in hesitation, not quite sure if this was the right thing to do. I reluctantly nodded, "Okay. But I'm coming with you to find David." He pulled me close and kissed the top of my head.
"I guess this is what life will always be like for us." he whispered.
"Yeah, but I know we'll get through it. Together." I leaned up and kissed him.♥☆♥
Tess' POV
"So, Tess."
"What?" I replied in an aggravated tone. I decided to play hard to get. Figured I'd have my fun where I can get it. He smirked.
"You wanna know what that was back there." he said.
"Is that a question or a statement?"
"It's a fact."
"Oh really? Well then if I'm just 'dying' to know, then why don't you tell me."
He chuckled, "Clark's been hiding something for quite some time."
"That's not really news, pretty boy. Everyone knows that."
"So you think I'm pretty?"
I scoffed, "I'm not begging to get in your pants, Queen. That wasn't a compliment."
"But it wasn't exactly an insult," he replied. I crossed my arms, sat back and stared at him. He stopped joking. "Alright, alright I'll tell you what you want to know."
"Which is...?"
"Clark is different from everyone else, if you couldn't tell."
"Is he one of those meteor freaks?"
"Kind of."
"Kind of?"
"Can you let me finish?"
"Well, you're not really saying much."
"I shouldn't have brought you."
"It's your fault for inviting me to dinner Mr. Queen."
"Haha. Whatever happened to Oli?"
"That ended a long time ago. Stop trying to change the subject."
He glared at me, "You're really getting on my nerves." I cleared my throat and he rolled his eyes.
"What? Are you too scared to tell me? Afraid you're gonna hurt your best friend? You obviously weren't thinking that when you kidnapped Lana -"
"That's enough!"
I could see the guilt eating away at him. I could tell he was regretting his decision. I could see the bitterness in his tense muscles as he realizes that he made a mistake. I smiled.
"Just spit it out." I'm grinning now. He snapped, banging his fists on the table, his face red. He abruptly stood up and went to the pilot's room. I'm assuming he told them to turn the plane around. "What a shame. I was really having fun." I said tauntingly.
"Shut up."
"Aww, little Oliver feels bad now. Looks like he's a failure at being the bad guy." I said in a baby voice, running my finger from the corner of my eye to my jawline, imitating a tear.
"I said shut up!" He slapped me.
I sat there in shock for a moment, right before I reached my hands up and wrapped them around his neck, choking.
"Don't you ever touch me again!"
He stood up with my hands still around his neck, pulling me up with him. He tore my hands away, pulled me to him, then kicked my legs from under me, making me fall and hit my head. I got up slowly, then tried to kick him in the neck, but he grabbed my foot right as it made contact, and pushed me away. I fell again, but this time I got up and sat down in a chair, calming myself before I end up stabbing him. Not, that I didn't want to, but I didn't want to deal with that court case. With Lex gone, we lost a little bit of our money. I'm sure we'll get it back, but there's no use in trying right now. Before Lex died, I had signed half of Luthorcorp to Oliver, so that wouldn't help either. That was a stupid mistake. All I know is I have to figure out how to not kill him as I feel the familiar sinking feeling of the plane turning around. I smirked because I knew I won the argument.
I guess friends are forever after all.
