Chapter 4

Oliver's POV

You know what? I shouldn't be feeling guilty at all! I'm the one who was trying to protect my friends and possibly the world! Clark was just sitting there waiting for something to happen, instead of actually doing something like the coward he is. Then he gets mad at me for fixing the problem. I didn't take a person's life, because Lex is not a person. Clark still thinks that deep down Lex was still a good person. But he is wrong. That thing needed to die. Clark doesn't understand that I tried to help him. Not even a simple thank you. I'm gonna let him know that I'm pissed. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to have him suffer. Show him what he could have lost if I didn't take care of it. The alien needs to suffer...

And I know just the way to do it.

Clark's POV

"I love you so much, Lana. I don't know what I would've done if I lost you." I told her, staring into her eyes as she's wrapped in the sheets.

"I love you too, Clark. I'm glad that you're not putting the blame on yourself anymore." she said.

"I just wish I could go back and change that. Help Lex find the good in him. I know it was there. He was just ignoring it. I wish I could've found out how to help him before he died. In a way I thought of him as a big brother before he lost himself."

"Clark, let it go. He made his choices. He knew what he wanted to be. He may have been better before he lost your trust, but that part of him died along with his conscience. He was no longer the man you thought him to be. Just let it go."

After Lana said that there was complete silence. I had no way to answer her. Those were the last words I thought of before I drifted to sleep.

Lana's POV

I woke up to a new text message.

Lana you don't know how beautiful I think you are. I wish we could be together. I think about you all the time. I just have to take care of the problem. Then I can finally have you.

I panicked. Could this be Lex? Could he still be alive? No it couldn't be, they found his remains. But what if he used a clone to fake his death like I did? What if it isn't Lex? Are they referring to Clark as the "problem" ?

After I had calmed down, I convinced myself that it might have been a prank. It could just be someone messing with me. I decided not to tell Clark. He already has enough on his mind. I can't have him worrying about this.
