It was about two weeks after the visit to pirate cove, two weeks after (y/n) had openly proclaimed her love for Arthur. She was conflicted, the Hanahaki Disease steadily got worse but the herbs from Yao helped immensely. No one made any comments about the new flower among the roses, they only cringed when (y/n) pulled thorn covered stems from her throat. Through (y/n) had gotten better about hiding it, especially since the temperature was dropping significantly, she had larger coats to hide the flowers in. Everyone's breath came out in puffs of air and the ships that they saw more often now where the Northerner's strange flat boats with fearsome wolves or dragons carved into them. When asked where they were going Arthur only waved them off and said,

"We will get there when we get there."

Soon the crewman started fighting over blankets at night and any water kept on board would freeze. Peter didn't play above the main deck instead opting to stay below decks where it was warmer. The cold helped soothe (y/n)'s as she breathed in the crisp air, leaning on a railing. She watched the waves below her, watching the seals swim in the water and play with each other.

She had only been to the northern ocean once or twice in her life, both times accompanied by her parents. As diplomats, her parents to travel quite a bit and they had to go to the northern sea where the sea nymph kingdom of Icedoitia (ik-eh-doy-sha). (Y/n) closed her eyes feeling the stinging air on her face, she did not notice the red clad captain approaching her until he spoke.

"You seem familier with the northern sea."

"I've been here before, though not above water."

He chuckles quietly before leaning on the railing with her.

"Is the underwater world more beautfifful then the surface."

"Actually it is, on these travels I've looked across the surface of the ocean, seeing a seemingly endless amount of flat water stretching off into the distance. When I close my eyes I can imagine in great detail the world that lies beneath that blue facade. I wished I could take you to see it multiple times, but despite its beauty it is a cruel unforgiving world down there. One does not go exploring alone under the sea, unless that one wishes for death."

He stared at the surface of the ocean trying to imagine the beauty.

"Well maybe you could take me for just a peek someday."

The blonde responds to her.

"I might not have a someday..."

(Y/n) mutters quietly and Arthur, who didn't quite hear what she said looked at her concern evident in his eyes. The (h/c) haired girl shook her head and pushed off the railing. She walked down into the kitchen and started to make dinner for the crew.

They were halfway through dinner when the blizzard let loose its fury upon 'The Red Queen'.

The waves were not an issue to deal with, they were not very large at all, the wind and snow were the issue. The crew of the ship tried in vain to keep the ship steady. But it was impossible to see through the flurry of snow that wave rapidly building up on the deck and making it treacherous to walk upon. Men slipped and fell at every turn, unable to get a steady footing.

(Y/n)'s P.O.V

My face feels as if its going to fall off, everything is so cold. All I can see are faint outlines in the blinding white. The snow stings the skin as it is whipped around me by the intense winds. I close my eyes trying to focus on the heart of the storm itself, I take a deep breath and access my power. The feeling is unfamiliar, snow is much different then rain, it has a different life to it. I dully note the blizzard isn't as angry as before and doing tasks is a possible thing to accomplish. I hear Arthur call out commands over the low moaning of the wind. I feel the ship lurch forward as I realize the crew is rowing the ship out of the storm. Its getting harder to breathe the longer I hold onto the storm, but I know that letting go would end in disaster. I feel my wrist growing warm, I chance a glance and see the bracelet from Seychelles glowing blue and feeding me energy.
