We leave Star Control and head to the edge of the park where Nuka-Galaxy resides. We follow the ramp up to the red double doors and push our way inside.
The lobby is tinted with blue lights, a long queue line still standing after two centuries. I step over the queue ropes, Gage taking the lead.
We follow the ramp down to the ride, finding a rocket ship with two seats still waiting at the beginning of the track.
Protectrons walk around aimlessly until they catch sight of us, and fire. We easily take them out.
I find the control panel for the ride. I take the star core in the console, and press the start button, but the rocket stays at a halt.
"Ain't no power going to the park, boss. This won't work until we get it turned back on."
"Well, we need to come back after. I have wanted to try this ride since before the war."
"Damn, boss. I always forget you're an old lady." Gage says with a chuckle.
I storm out of the control pod and march up to him. The only reason I can look him in the eye is due to my power armour boosting my height.
He meets my gaze, his mouth forming a hard line, which keeps twitching into a smirk.
I can't help but snicker at his harmless teasing. He isn't exactly wrong. I am technically over two hundred and twenty years old.
"You may be right, Porter. But it doesn't make it funny."
"Then why are ya laughing?" He says.
"Ah, shut up." I mutter and continue down the track, chuckling. "If it was anyone else saying that I'd send their ass to the gauntlet as a corpse decoration."
"I'm sure ya would, boss." He responds, following me along the track.
I carefully follow the same path the rocket would take, and find myself in a barrage of lasers. I use my VATS to aim as best I can, shooting down the laser turrets stuck to the floating metal planets decorating the ride.
I continue down the twisting metal track, my power armour boots clanging noisily against the rusted beams. Protectrons shoot at us from below, more turrets raining lasers on us from above. Gage throws an EMP grenade underneath us, the green electrical cloud taking out any robots within range while I focus on the turrets.
We make a descent as the track dips downward, and enter an area with sentry bots and alien animatronics. They shoot at each other, but don't do any damage. We run through that section, knowing that our armour won't sustain the damage of a missile from the sentry bots.
Finally we find the exit. We go into the control room and find more star cores.
"That should be all we'll need." Gage says, tucking a star core into his pack.
I take all that remains.
We exit the room, following the track to the end of the ride. The room looks almost the same as the beginning, but this time a Nuka-Girl animatronic sitting on a spaceship waves at us.
"Gage, look at that!" I exclaim, hopping over a fallen barrier.
"Whatcha see, boss?" He asks, suddenly curious.
"The Nuka-Girl suit!" I say in awe. "I've only ever seen it in the comics and commercials. And here it is!"
"Why don't you take it?" He says.
"I can do that?" I ask, surprised.
"Boss, you can take whatever the fuck ya want."
"Can you help me get it down?"
