(Hey guys! Kara here. We are terribly sorry for not updating this story for so long! It's been a little chaotic recently, so, here's an update in the story... In 2025. Again, we are sorry for the long updates, but we'll try to continue this story as best as we can!!!)
They had reached the edge of the Rainforest. It was quite peaceful at night. Moonlight flooded into the area, lighting it up with a soothing glow. Stargazer let out a soft, delighted sigh. "Happy?" Skyfire asked her, smiling softly. Stargazer nodded. She liked to be outside while the stars were out. It made her feel free and happy. It was also a good time to- well- star gaze! Since it was only the edge of the forest, there weren't too many trees, so the stars were still visible. Soon enough, she felt heat emitting from something behind her. She turned her head around to see that Sandstorm and Skyfire had used some nearby wood to build a fire.
Kinkajou was already lying down near the fire, taking in the warmth. Stargazer went over to sit by the fire too. "We should probably wake up early tomorrow to even remotely get close to the Kingdom of Sea." Sandstorm calculated. Skyfire and Stargazer nodded in agreement. The other two sat around the fire afterwards. By now, Kinkajou had already fallen asleep. "You two should also get to sleep." Stargazer reminded them. "As long as you sleep too." Skyfire said sternly. Stargazer let out a stifled laugh. "I will, I will, don't worry." She reassured. Skyfire nodded, and started to get into a comfortable position before dozing off. She had then noticed Sandstorm sitting there, watching the trickling flames of the fire intently. "You good?" Stargazer questioned.
He rapidly shook his head before coming to his senses. "Huh? Yeah, I'm fine." Stargazer raised an eyebrow at his sudden reply. He seemed to have been in some sort of trance. Yeah, SURE Sandstorm. Her mind echoed. "Yeah, no. Are you sure you're alright?" Stargazer repeated in a more serious (Or well, remotely serious) manner. He nodded, ignoring her gaze. She sighed. She wasn't going to get anything out of him if he was in THIS mood. Maybe I should.. Before even finishing the thought, she leapt up into the sky. The stars shimmered at her. The moons glowed. It made her feel safe. Fresh air, stars, moons and, most importantly, FREEDOM. But she then quickly felt cold, and wanted to get back to the comforts of the campfire warmth.
And she quickly did so. She twisted her body so she was aligned in a way to swoop down smoothly. Her talons swiftly, but softly, landed down onto the mossy, soft grass. She looked over at everyone. Skyfire and Kinkajou had dozed off into a deep sleep, while Sandstorm had also dozed off, it seemed rather light. But then again, Sandstorm had always been a light sleeper in general, so Stargazer didn't think much of it. She found an extra soft patch of grass near the campfire, and layed down on her back, looking up at the glowing stars. She blinked tiredly at the stars that showered above her. They twinkled back at her.
"Such a beautiful night. Sad, I can't watch them any longer." Stargazer sighed. It was a shame she couldn't stay up longer, but she really did need the rest. There was still a long flight ahead the next day. She closed her eyes, slowly dozing off.
