Part 3: A Voiding mystery.

Part 3: Project: Void.

[A few weeks later after the new year's performance, gilded carrot day etc...]

The vision corporation's CEO (or who was in the past) starts walking into the building into the film & arts awards that will cover the movie stars who won it. Sarah walks in and sits near the reserved table. She was slightly elegantly spinning her wine glass. The final award goes to Astra Yao. "Alright everyone. You know who she is. Everyone knows! She is the singer, and she is the actress, Astra Yao!" When everyone heard the great Astra Yao's name, they all applauded, applauded with manners and with cheerful spirit. Astra came up to the stage and lifted up the mic from the mic-stand. "This is like what- my 9th award." She says with a laugh, and everyone laughs as well. "But really, thank you for helping me to get this far. Without any of you guys' support, I wouldn't have gone this far. Thank you to all New Eridu." In that exact moment, someone threw in an unknown explosion, then suddenly, a dark domain covered the whole ceremony place.

[Meanwhile, at N.E.P.S. Department.]

As the office for the criminal investigation team phone rings, no one was there to answer the call. It was quiet and empty, as Zhu Yuan and the rest were busy, Kane was passing by and he noticed the phone's loud ringing. "Hm, I guess I have to get it, it might be important." he spoke with a sigh. "Hello? This is New Eridu public Security, how can I help you?" Kane spoke with professionalism while laziness. "Help! The ceremony for the Film awards has been covered by a hollow! " Kane's eyes immediately widen like it owes his money, "Where?" The caller answered immediately, "I-it's in the City Stage in the city central! Please come, we are scared of what'll happen to Astra!" Kane nods, placing the telephone onto the stand, and then he [               ]s to the spoken location. He was in front of the black hollow and knew what this hollow was, a void hollow. It's not normal for void-hollows to appear. "Is the rest okay?" He asked the manager next to him. "Y-yes, but Miss Evelyn rushed into the hollow as well- and-." she said with a stuttering tone in fear. "Don't worry, I'll make sure I'll save both of them. Everyone! Stay here." Kane spoke, reassuring the crowd and Yao's manager. Kane goes into the void hollow, knowing the dangers and how the hollow works.

Wait! Before we continue, we have to explain about Void hollows. Void hollows are rarely seen. But its structure is similar to the hollow Melinoe with its vast area expansion inside the hollow's domain. However, Most of the area is very dark so you need a light source with you. Likewise, this hollow has (what looks like) a infinite repetitive space, because of that, you can get lost very easily. Normally, void hollows have a mastermind ethereal that keeps the hollow intact, but this void hollow has been created by a void essence, something that drops from the mastermind ethereal. Which creates normal hollows, however, something has to add the final touch to become another void hollow. However, Kane has already good expertise about this hollow. He already knows to locate himself, as he has a special hand-watch with him, which also acts like a compass. Even with a tool like this, walking in a void hollow is easier due to this void hollow being only an infinite area that actually repeats. However, each person's "starting point" is different, and if they don't travel with another person that has a different starting point, they can't start up another "starting point"

Kane travels around the left side, and as he goes closer, he realises that his 'starting point' has not been repeated, he is close to someone. He could hear noises of fire crackling and sparking. Ethereals slumping down with a painful grunt. "That wire. Hello Miss Evelyn." Kane says, approaching her. "Oh, hello Mr Kane." Evelyn spoke with relief, lucky that someone is around, Evelyn continues to communicate. "Every time I try to move to a location where Miss Astra is, I always end up here. Almost like a repetitive cycle, I never encountered this time of Hollow before." Kane answers, "It is a Void hollow. Void hollows choose a 'starting point' for each living organism. Each starting point is different, and will repeat, however if another organism is close, when the direction that the other being goes and doesn't repeat is the right way to meet with the other person. Once the other person is met with another, their starting points will disable, and the area will look like it is compacted normally again. Just like now." Evelyn's eyes widened from listening to this information, "Ah, well I guess I have to thank you for saving me there." Kane shook his head, "Don't thank me, but first let's find Miss Astra, I bet you're sick and worried about her as you are her bodyguard." He spoke, reassuring Evelyn and pointing out what to do next. Evelyn nodded and followed Kane, they could see Astra on the otherside, only 20 metres away. "Miss Astra!" Evelyn spoke with a desperate tone and relief. However, Kane stops her, "You're wasting your breath. She can't hear us unless we approach her and disable her starting point." He says straightforwardly with a calm serious tone. "Luckily, there is a bridge lever here, so we can go faster to her location." He reassured her again with his usual demeanor. As they activated the bridge, it came up, both crossing it and approaching Astra. "Miss Astra!" Evelyn reached to her hands and breaths shakily relieved that Astra was okay. "I am fine Eve! It's fine, thanks for coming, I was barely fending off these ethereals." As Astra looked away for a second and saw Kane she widen her eyes and standed up, "Wait! Your Kane Joe right?!" She spoke, with the fangirl side of her showing. Kane's eyes widen a little and clears his throat, "Yes." He spoke with his usual demeanor again, "Kane Joe. That is my name." Astra placed her hands together and leaned on it, "Wow, I never thought I'd actually meet you!" She spoke with so much enthusiasm. Kane made a small smile while giving his answer, "Well I never thought I'd be meeting Astra Yao herself as well, but the day today is not the greatest. Follow me, I know where the exit is normally for these hollows." The three go to a white fissure. "This is it." Kane says with a sigh. Evelyn and Astra nod together and go into the fissure with Kane. The incident was quite hectic, as reporters and many paparazzi all came to take note of Astra's reaction, which Kane and Evelyn covered nicely to be able to move into the limo. "Thanks Mr Kane, I am glad you helped us and you were really a life-saver today." Evelyn spoke with true thanks and heart. "No problem. I'll investigate further what happened later, in the meantime, have a great night you two." Kane said with a sigh, already needing a break. "Mr detective, just saying I am a big fan you know that?" Astra said with basically swooning a little but also having respect in her tone. "Ah, you really? I thought you were joking." Kane answered with sarcasm, but also with a tone of thanks. "Well have a great night as well Mr Detective! Bye bye!" Astra replied with genuine enthusiasm. Kane waved at the and sighed, perhaps he can let some of his colleagues or HIA know about this incident. After a week or so, the inter-knot spreads about the incident of a Void hollow appearing. HSO are right now investigating, however found no clues able to solve the case. Zhu Yuan approaches Kane, with a concerned face. "Senior Kane, are you alright?" she said with a questioning tone yet worried. "No, it's fine Zhu Yuan, I just need to find someone who can help me to find the relations of who did this." He spoke with a stressed yet calm turn. Zhu Yuan thought about it and had one idea, but it might be risky. "I know someone but, Senior Kane, I'll tell you when our shift is finished alright?" Kane nodded, "Alright Zhu Yuan. Whoever it is, I hope they are skilled enough." He spoke with his neutral tone.
