"Who could ever leave me darling? But who could stay?"

Lacy was at her sisters Lilly's place. In San Francisco, her sister had been living there for the past few months.

Lacy liked her sister's apartment. It was filled with photographs, plants and art.

It felt like home.

"Moms picking you up no an hour." Lilly walked in

"Ugh do I have to go back?" " Lacy groaned

"Look I know you got your boy drama back home. but your really gonna leave mom alone for the summer?"

Lacy groaned as she got up from the coach.

"I just can't deal with seeing anyone this summer."

"What like that karate Boy? Miguel? Hey why did you never introduce him to us?"

"I don't even know. If I did. Maybe none of this would of happened."

"Well did you like him?"

Lacy paused.

She did. She really liked him. Maybe even more than like.

"Yeah. I did. I really liked him a lot. I never felt that way for someone before. And I got scared and pushed him away. God I'm such an idiot."

"Your not an Idiot Lace. You were just scared. It's not your fault."

"You excited to see Val and the twins?" Lola smiled while driving the car

"Yeah. It's been so long since I last saw them" Lacy said while watching the waves crash against the coastlines.

Lola looked over at Lacy. Noticing something was wrong.

"Honey. What's wrong your sister has been telling me somethings been bugging you lately."

"It's nothing. Really" Lacy replied

Lola glances at her daughter concerned.

"Besides. I'm a Dupre. I'll get through it."

"That's what we do." Lola smiled

The door opened and there she was.

Valerie Dupre.

"Lacy oh my god." Val said with her arms out reaching in for a hug

"Hi" Lacy said excitedly, hugging Val.

"You just get more and more beautiful every time I see you." Val said smiling while holding onto Lacy's face.

"It's good to see you Val." Lacy said smiling

"The twins are upstairs in their rooms." Val said inviting Lacy in.

"Oh and do me a favor? Talk to Mason. He's barely said a word to me since we got here." Val asked

"Yeah of course." Val said smiling

She headed upstairs to the twins bedrooms.
