Chapter 19: The Brothers Meet

-Karkat's POV-
When the two other mermen showed up, the one with the violet tail I guessed was Eridan's brother. Especially when he hugged him. The other one though, the one with the bright red tail, he just stared at me. He looks so familiar... I just can't put my finger on it. Then as tears threaten to fall from his eyes, he said, "K-Karkat..? Is... Is that really y9u...?" My eyes widened and tears started to form, "...Kankri..?" The tears that threatened to fall, started to fall. He practically leaped at me and hugged me. I hugged him back, "I missed y9u s9 much," he said. Then I quickly said," I missed you too.." I pulled away from the hug and looked at him. He looked so different, but he still had his fluffy black hair and his freckles.
-Eridan's POV-
After Cronus hugged me, he asked me if I was ok and I said that I was fine. "So, this is your human friend?" He asked pointing to Sollux as he just waved from a short distance away from us. I nodded, "yea, he has a name you knoww."
"Yeah I know that. What's his name?"
"His name's Sollux. And that's his best friend, Karkat," I pointed to Karkat who was talking to Kankri. He nodded and smiled, "I'm just glade you're ok. Oh by the way," he reached for something in his little bag that he had on his gold belt,"I thought you'd want this... To use for Sollux." I looked at what he was handing me and it was the limestone shell! "T-thank you cro, but... sol doesn't wwant to change," I told him. "Just take it anyway. He might change his mind. So just in case." He put the stone in my hand and went to go talk to Sollux for a little bit. Karkat and Kankri were catching up with a lot of things that I didn't understand much. I looked at the stone that Cronus just gave me. I started thinking, if Sollux doesn't want to change then how are we going to be together? He'll never convince my dad if he doesn't. Wait a minute, if I were to change him, what would his blood be? If it's low, then my dad is going to be a grey either way. This kinda worried me. As I was deep in my thoughts, Sollux pulled me out of them by waving in my face while saying,"hello? Helllloooo? Eridan? You there?" I shook my head, "y-yea I'm sorry I wwas just thinkin' about something."
"Oh, ok what were you thinking about?"
"Nothing important." I simply said. He just shrugged and sat by me on the shallow part of the cave. Soon everyone here just started talking to each other. As we were all talking I heard Karkat say to Kankri, "you look so different, I realized I never said that before.."
"9h, yes. I d9 l99k quite different, 6ut Cr9nus here 9esn't mind it 9ne 6it. He says I l99k even cuter like this" Kankri smiled and held Cronus's hand. Cronus smiled and kissed his mate, then he turned to me,"so, are they going to stay here?" He asked, I nodded. "Ok. Well Kanny and I will be glad to help you guys out if you need anything. Isn't that right Kan?" He said and Kankri nodded, "Yes, I w9uld l9ve t9 help."

I'm sorry this chapter was really short, it's just that if I don't update for a while you guys start to yell at me. Oh well it is a pretty good story I guess. I don't know I always think they're bad but whatever. I'll try to update when ever I can!
