He dried his tears and I guided him back downstairs.
We sat down, sonny started to feel a bit better, snuggling up to me like a kitten or some kind of animal.
"I'm so sorry you had to be here for this Joel" Sonnys mother stated mid conversation
"But I'm glad you where, he would attacked sonny if you didn't stop him"
"Yeah you fucking saved my ass twice today"
"Twice?" Asked his mother confused
"Oh yeah, my sisters came round, one brought their overly-violent boyfriend, he threatened sonny so I..knocked him out..but he deserved it"
Sonny smiled widely thinking about the incident
"So I take it Sonnys into that kinda stuff?" Asked his auntie, examining him
"Yeah...Sonnys a big softy for things like that...I couldn't tell you why" explaining his mum
Sonny just kind shrugged.
He looked at me innocently.
He gently pulled me down to his lips and kissed me. It got kind of intense
"Hey! Keep it PG please" said Amy looking up from her phone
"That was PG!"
Sonny POV
I went into the kitchen to get some food.
A few minutes later Amy joined me and gently closed the door.
"About earlier..."
I looked up and just sighed
"You didn't have sex with him...did you?"
She mumbled, avoiding eye contact "depends what you mean by sex"
I tilted her head up so she was looking in my eyes
"I mean...did he put his penis inside you Amy"
"I mean it depends where you're referring to" she mumbled
"Where do you think?!"
She just kind of looked at me "you could mean anywhere"

She sighed "I'm sorry sonny..I promise I didn't do anything stupid"
She sat down "what's wrong with me?"

"Why am I acting like this?" She asked, confused at herself

I didn't really know what to say.
She sighed deeply and we went back into the living room
"The weddings on Wednesday"
"Wednesday?" I asked confused..weird day for a wedding
"Yeah, Joel do you think your parents would let you of school?"
"My dads not gonna be here Tuesday or Wednesday so he'll never know"
"Perfect!" She said happily
"By the way..I'm staying here tonight so yous two may not be planning anything...nobody wants to hear that"
"We're not don't worry"
We all went to bed.
"Come stay at mine on Tuesday"
I smiled "ok"
We just lay in bed talking for a while, then I fell asleep.
I woke up and my auntie and my mum where looking at us talking.
I sat up "what are yous doing?" I asked confused
"Morning sonny, I was just about to wake you and Joel up for school"
I just kind of lay on Joel again.
"Get up sonny!" She said playfully
"I don't want to" I whined
Joel opened his eyes, he lightly closed them and locked his arms tighter around me.
"Joel you need to get up"
"Shh I'm happy" he said softly.
I mother awed before banging two pans together.
We both sat up "ok! Jesus Christ!"
We waited for them to get out and lay back down.
"I don't wanna go to school"
We got up and got dressed, and then Joel pulled me back onto the bed.
"You're so beautiful" he said gazing deep into my eyes.
I just kind of looked down and bit my lip "thanks"
He put his hand on my face and pressed his lips against mine "I'm so lucky to have you" he whispered
I climbed on top of him and kissed him deeply. He kind of seemed like he was struggling to keep up with my pace
My auntie walked in "wow...will you two go to school already?"
"Yeah, yeah whatever" I said and got up, she watched me grab my bag and pull Joel along behind me.
"Bye"
"Have fun in school" I just kind of ignored her
*later that day*
It was break and I couldn't find Joel, that's when Adam came up to me, we haven't spoken in a while, but we're still pretty close.
"Hey so, did you hear that Joel Zimmerman is sleeping with Sarah! I mean she's like the prettiest girl in school and they've always been close so I believe it"
"Yeah, I think that's just a rumour man" I said casually as if I was slightly unsure
"Ohh that's right..he's not because he's sleeping with you"
My eyes shot up at him, I forced a laugh "haha what are you talking about?"
"Come on sonny, you have no reason to lie to me"
"I'm not...he's not" I tripped over my words, I just didnt know what to say.
"I've seen it...the way he looks at you, speaks to you. They way you would just look at eachother and say nothing but it's like your eyes are having a full conversation. You can't hide that sort of thing"
I just looked down "please don't tell anyone" I asked softly
"Wait so I was right?" I nodded
"Woah...cool, and I won't, I promise I won't"
"How long has this being going on for?"
"I dunno, a while...I guess. Well not that long"
"You need to tell me everything" he said enthusiastically
The bell rang
"Can we skip next class so you can tell me?"
"Sure" I agreed so we went and sat by the river
I got a text from Joel
"I can't go to next class, can you skip with me?"
"I'm already skipping, come sit with me and Adam"
"Ok"
I looked up at Adam "Joels coming to sit, deal with it"
"That's actually really good because I haven't seen you two properly together"
A few minutes later Joel came up slowly and sat down, he obviously kept his distance from me.
"Hi Joel" said Adam
"Hey" he said nervously
"I could not go to that class, Sarahs been up my hole all day, I can't take it anymore"
"Why don't you just hit that, man, she digs you" asked Adam playing dumb
"She's pretty irritating and has a shitty personality, plus I don't see what everyone else sees in her"
"Nice cover man"
"What?"
"I was just playing with you man, I know that Sarahs not the only one that's been up your hole recently"
I just kind of laughed as he slowly turned red.
"Nice. Thanks for that" he said awkwardly
Pulled him close to me and kissed him.  He just kind of looked at me and put his arms around my waist.
We all went back to class. I got kinda sad...really sad. I knew I would so I bought some vodka in today.
I sat in the bathroom and downed it. I was just over thinking so bad, not to mention that the time in this shit hole drags as much as physically possible.
Joel POV
It was just after lunch. I was sitting in class, everyone was working quietly until the door swung open
"Can I..can I speak to Joel outside?" Asked a slurred voice, I looked up and of course it was sonny.
The teacher looked pretty confused
"Um..he's doing work sonny, you're going to have to wait" she said a nice as she could.
"Well then...I'll come wait in here" he said and flung himself on a random desk
"Who wants to hear a joke I've been working on....ok it's very funny. Why didn't the chicken cross the road? He was already dead" he burst into laughter and the class followed behind
"Joel are you fucking done yet?" He came over and looked at the page "this work...is nothing but some bullshit"
"Can you take me home please, I can't remember where I live"
"Yeah ok" I said and stood up. He seemed to be have some trouble with walking too, so after a lot of struggling I just picked him up and went to walk out.
"Joel, you can't just leave"
"I have to bring sonny home"
"Joel we can ring his mother or something but you can't leave"
"Look, his family are going through a lot right now and I wouldn't want to put that on his mother, so I'm leaving whether you like it or not" I said and left.
"Sonny where's your stuff?"
"I can't remember where I put it"
I just walked into Amy's classroom, I was gonna call her out privately but fuck it, sonny looked fucking dead in my arms anyway.
"Amy I'm taking sonny home because he's completely fucked, can you try and find his shit?" The whole class room just looked at me
"Mr.zimmerman I would appreciate it if you would use nicer language"
"Well sir, is he, or is he not completely fucked"
He just shook his head.
"Amy are you going to find his shit or what girl"
"Yeah I'm on it"
"Thanks"
"BYE MOTHERFUCKERS! ROCK N ROLL" screamed sonny and then he just laughed at himself
"Ok you" I just said and left.
I just carried sonny home and nervously rang his doorbell.
His mother answered looking quite angry, but softened at the sight of sonny.
"What happened?"
"Umm..I'm pretty sure he's wasted" I answered handed her him.
"Thanks for bringing him here joel"
"It's fine" I looked at him sadly "I'll see you later" I said and walked back to school.
Sonny POV
I have a blinding pain in my head, what happened to me? I slowly opened my eyes, my mum and auntie were just kind of looking at me.
I sat up holding my head "what the fuck happened"
"You kinda fucked yourself up...with alcohol of course"
I lay back down "I'm sorry"
"Don't be, it's fine"
"Why did you even bring a big bottle of vodka into school?"
"I knew I was gonna be upset today so I was like fuck it, I'll bring it just incase...how did you know i did?"
"It was in your bag along with other questionable items"
"What questionable items?"
"Well yeah I actually did wanna talk to you about this"
"Ok shoot"
"Well...let's start with the drawings..."
I slowly sat up "what are they of?" She handed me them.
"Oh right, yeah" I said and handed them back..they were just of sad people and knives and shit
"Are you ok?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Look at the dates on these, this was a while ago" I pulled more out of a book.
"These are more recent" the ones I handed her were colourful and happy.
"Oh, ok" she smiled
I lay back down again.
"So what's with the bag of leaves?"
"Art"
"Oh ok"
"And...the porn?"
"Are you really surprised by that?"
"No, actually"
"Well then there you go"
She just kinda sighed
"This is what scared me the most..."
"What is it?"
"Why the fuck...do you have tampons in your bag?"
"Oh, well sometimes Amy forgets them, so I just keep a few for her. They come in handy way more than you might think they would trust me"
"Aww sonny that's so sweet" sighed my auntie
I just kinda shrugged.
"Dylan (her son) would never do that for alana"
"Why not?"
"He's all like gross periods"
I just kind of rolled my eyes, Dylan's older than me for fuck sake.
"How did you get your kids to start opening up to you?"
"Stop treating them like kids and start treating them like friends"
"That's solid advice" I pointed out.
"I've tried that, Dylan thinks I'm an idiot, don't think I don't know why you're staying in your 'friends' house. I'm sick of it, I want what you and sonny have"
"Yeah but don't go thinking sonny didn't used to be like that, he did. It's a natural reaction to your parents when they treat you like children, you know the way it used to be"
"Yeah, I know. I think if I found porn in Dylan's bag he'd absolutely crap himself and then blame it on someone else"
Amy came home and crouched beside me
"Are you ok sonny?"
"Yeah, I'm alright"
"I hope you know that if Joel didn't get you out of there, your ass would have been suspended"
"Yeah...I could've guessed that..I was off my fucking tits"
"Yeah I know" she laughed
"Here's some paracetamol if you want it"
I patted her head "thanks"
She just smiled and left.
Next thing I heard a car door slam and someone walk into our house.
"Alana, what are you doing here?"
"Dad dropped me off"
"Yes, but why are you here?"
"Well, I dunno, it's just that my mother abandoned me" she said quite rudely.
Joel rang and asked if it was ok if he came and saw me, so obviously I was like yes.
Moments later, he came to the door and my mother let him in.
"How are you?"
I sat up and pulled him down beside me
"I'm alright, I just feel kinda sick" I said looking into his eyes, I always just feel such a strong connection between us all the time.
"Ohh that's..." He just stopped talking and stared deep into my soul as if he was looking for answers.
I just slowly put my lips on his, it felt like that was an appropriate way to finish his sentence.
People always say as the relationship goes on the bond slowly gets weaker and then you break up...but it's not true! Everyday the bond gets stronger, everyday I love him more.
The two women watched us closely as if they were watching some sort of romantic film, as if one of the scene was brought to life in front of their very eyes.
"Gross" huffed Alana.
"Shut up Alana"
Amy came down.
"Joel"
"Yeah?"
"Can I just.." She said and applied lipstick to his lips
"See I knew that colour would suit you"
Joel just didn't really know what to say, he proceeded to kiss me on the cheek, leaving a big red, lip-shaped stain.
"Joel!" I said jokingly
He grabbed my face and kissed all around it, until the colour faded from his lips.
It got kinda late and Alana finally left, I washed my face.
"Are you staying here Joel?"
"I didn't bring clothes"
"Then let's go get clothes, and you can stay here"
"Ok" he smiled
I took his hand and we walked to his house.
"You don't have to stay if you don't want" I said feeling kinda like I forced him.
"Why would I not want to? I love sleeping next to you"
"Are you sure"
"Yes sonny"
He went and got clothes and shit
"Joel! Where are you going this time?"
"I'm staying at my boyfriends"
"Again?"
"Yeah"
"How much time to you spend with that faggot?"
"Um..a lot?"
"Can I meet him?"
"Um hell no"
"Why?"
"Because you'll probably offend him, considering you just called him faggot"
"I won't say it to his face"

"But I didn't call you a faggot"
"Whatever, he's literally right outside if you want to meet him"
"Yes, bring him in"
He grabbed my hand and whispered "sorry in advance"
His dad stood up to greet me
"You must be sonny"
"Yup" I said shaking his hand.
"So what are you, one of those emo weirdos?"
"I..guess..."
"Hm I dunno I just thought Joel would go with someone more..in his league"
Wow...that kinda hurt.
But he's right, Joel is so out of my league...what am I even doing here? He's probably gonna leave me soon enough for someone more like him...and I'll just be left heartbroken.
I wanted to run far away, why is this happening to me, why did I ever think this would work.
"Are you kidding me?!" Asked Joel angrily and wrapped his arms around me
"Sonny is fucking perfect"
"I didn't mean to...be offensive...I was just saying"
"Well don't just fucking say!"
"I'm sorry!"
"Whatever" he said and yanked my arm out the door
I think Joel realised it was true...I hope he didn't. Oh my god what am I going to do?
I mean I am so in fucking love with this guy, I guess someone had to point out the obvious.
I felt like I was going to burst into tears, I felt so sick...but I can't let Joel see me crying...I can't be a little bitch about this.
We went up to bed.
"Are...you ok"
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine"
"You don't seem fine"
I just kind of shrugged.
"You can tell me if something's up sonny"
"Nothing's up"
"Ok.." He said worried.
After a while he fell asleep, everyone was asleep but me. I couldn't hold back my tears anymore
Was I over reacting? Maybe slightly. But i dunno I just...I dunno
I guess I was shaking a little violently...."sonny..why are you crying?"
"I'm not crying!" I wept
"Tell me what's going on!"
That just made me cry even harder.
He held me close to him..he sounded pretty worried.
"Sonny please! What is it?"
I was just so over whelmed with tears, Joel disparately tried to comfort me.
"What's wrong?" He asked soothingly
"Your dads right! You deserve way better than me! What are you still doing here Joel? You're waaayyy out of my league!"
His jaw dropped as he heard the words spilling out of my mouth.
He seemed pretty upset "sonny! How could you even say that!?! You can't listen to my dad! He's a hateful bastard! YOU MEAN EVERYTHING TO ME!" He allowed tears to run down his cheek.
I got kind of angry "can we stop fucking dancing around the obvious here? I am not good enough for you! In any way!
I NEVER HAVE BEEN, I NEVER WILL BE!"
Joels face flooded with tears.
"Sonny...how could you...WHY WOULD YOU THINK THAT?! YOURE MY WHOLE WORLD SONNY! ID BE NOTHING WITHOUT YOU! I don't want to be anything without you...please understand that"
My mum and auntie walked in
"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake yous up"
"It's ok..are yous fighting?"
"No" we both said at same time
"Then what's going on"
"My dad..,is a dick and he said some shit to sonny and now for some reason, sonny doesn't think he's good enough" he said through violent tears "how could he even think that"
My mum hugged me and my auntie hugged Joel.
"You two are the sweetest couple! You're perfect for eachother! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise"
Joel wept into my aunties shoulder.
"It's ok Joel, settle down"
"Go to sleep" said my mother soothingly, "it'll be better in the morning"
They left.
I looked at Joel "I'm sorry"
"No, I'm fucking sorry"
We both lay down

I wrapped my arms around him tightly.
My auntie and my mother came in "that was beautiful"
I just kind of looked at her "ok we're going now"
I feel so much better. I wasn't sure if he meant it or what but oh well.
I was so exhausted I pretty much just fell straight to sleep.
I woke up with my arms looped around Joels neck and my head on his chest. I glanced up and they were looking at me.
"Morning"
I groaned
"Get up sunshine"
"Ha ha" I said sarcastically
"Im kidding, but you do have to get up"
She shook Joel a little until he opened his eyes.
He was still half asleep
"Come on sonny!" She said as I lay back down
"No! Mine" Joel said cuddling up to me
I smiled widely, playing with his hair.
We eventually got up and headed to school.
"Oh fuck, I forgot something. I need to go get it, I'll see you in school" said Joel sprinting away.
Joke POV
I opened the door to my house and ran upstairs to grab my calculator, the teacher said if I left it behind one more time she was going to tell my head of year.
I came back downstairs and looked up at my dad
"What are you doing here, I thought you were leaving"
"I'm going in about half an hour"
"Oh" I said kinda rudely and went to leave
"What are you being so cold for?"
"Because" I hissed
"Because what?"
"Because you were so unnecessarily rude to sonny and I did not appreciate it" I said sternly so he knew just how serious I was.
"I wasn't intentionally rude to him"
"That doesn't matter! You don't just say that shit to people"
"Joel...I'm sorry, I really am. You know that's hard for me to say, you obviously really care about him, I don't understand it but whatever"
"Ok." I replied and left
Joels dad POV
I sighed, I don't know what I'm gonna do with that boy.
My phone started ringing
"Hello"
"Hey dad, me and kara were thinking about coming round later"
"Awk girls, I'm not going to be here, but feel free to crash"
"Yeah ok, I don't think Joel would mind"
"Be careful though, he's kind of angry because I insulted his boyfriend"
"Aww really, what did you say?"
"I said that Joel was out of his league"

"I'm not surprised Joels mad at you. He really cares about him"

"Because he's sweet, and they're good together. Any way, I'll speak to you later"
Sonny POV
Finally schools over, I don't feel as bad as I did...I think I don't anyway, I still feel a little shitty.
Joel was all over me.
I may be sad..but I still want him..a lot.
"You coming to mine?"
"Sure" I smiled
His excitement made me happy.
He opened the door and check nobody was in, then kissed me
"You do want to do this..yeah?"
"Obviously" I said and kissed him
"Good" he said and swept me off the ground, the proceeded to carry me upstairs
Kara POV
I opened the door to the house, we were immediately welcomed with the sound of violent bed springs and moaning
Me and Michelle looked at eachother and laughed silently

We just kind of sat on the chair and waited

After a long while of awkward they finally stopped.

"Why are you here?"
"Just thought we'd visit...never really thought you'd be doing that"

I giggled and showed Michelle
Joel POV
I showed sonny the conversation
"Oh my god" he looked petrified
"This is gonna be soooo awkward!"
"Yeah, oh well"
We both got dressed
I went to leave but sonny pulled me back "I do not wanna go down there"
"It'll be fine"
So we went downstairs and they just kind of looked at us
"Have fun?"
"Yup" Joel said and sat down.

Michelle sighed "Greg is always so rough with me" she said thinking about the whole thing
"So confront him about it"

"But he loves it, if you don't like it just tell him"
She just kind of looked at sonny
He smiled innocently at her.
"Are you sure he loves it?"
"Yeah"
"I wanna hear him say it"
"I love it" he said awkwardly

"Yeah that's fine" she laughed
He took out his phone
"Aw fuck, I have to go, but I'll come back later"

He pulled my head into a strangely deep kiss and then sprinted out the door.
Sonny POV
I got home
"Where have you been"
"Joels" I said and sat down
My mother examined me "you had sex didn't you?"
"Sure did"
She just kind of smiled "nice"
My auntie clicked "get back on topic"
"Oh yeah your dads coming home to apologise, I would let him go but I need the money"
I nodded "I understand"
"You don't have to accept his apology, you just have to be here"
"No problem" I said daydreaming
"Daydreaming about the sex?"
"Yes, I am, but like so what that was..the best sex I've ever had"
"Why, what did he do differently?"
"I don't even know...there was just more energy or something, it was good"
"Are you going to tell Joel that?"
I looked over at her "should I?"
