Nautica
"Thank you." I spoke to the beautician as she had took my sew in out and washed my hair.
"No problem." She smiled. I put the cap over my head and walked to my car. I got to my house and decided to take the dogs for a walk, knowing I couldn't pay anyone to do it.
"Woah, Woah, Woah." I slowed them as they tried to run. I lived in a white neighborhood so of course the little white kids looked afraid. One brave hearted little soul walked up behind me, tugging at my shirt.
"Can I pet them?"
"They bite." I wrapped the leashes around my hand more so they wouldn't attack the kid.
"Ok." She back away and went back to what she was doing. After about 15 minutes I decided to go back home.
"Come on Delta." I tugged as she still sniffed. I took the leashes off as we got in the backyard before all three of them attacked me, licking my face.
"No, no, no." I tucked my lips as they showed me affection.
"Stop. Sit." They all back away and sat.
"Good." I wiped my face as I threw them treats before going inside.
"You have got to stop doing that." I said I heard scrambling in the other room.
"Stop doing what princess?" The Russian inquired causing me to roll my eyes and mentally curse myself for trusting him.
"Can I help you, Msgovkni?"
"I had to find you myself since you wouldn't answer the phone." He approached as my light flickered back on. I turned around to him and he leaned again the counter with a glass of wine.
"That doesn't answer my question. What. Do you want?"
"It's all business of course. But it involves your family."
"What about them?"
"See, Ms. Goldstead, your father was once a big time drug dealer. Like you are now. We made an exchange. I have him 2 thousand dollars for 1 thousand kilos of course. I gave it to him in a months advance. He never did give me my coke and I can't find him."
"I don't know who or where he is." I spoke truthfully not knowing how made me or gave birth to me.
"That's also your fault for trusting his dumbass." I smirked.
"You can make this difficult or easy. You tell me where he is or you'll be going to funerals on a weekly basis, ending with yours, of course." He washed out his cup, dried it, and sat it back where he found it.
"You have 2 days. You either find him or... You know." He smiled before leaving out. At this point I should be petrified that a man is threatening me, but I don't fear death. I undressed and took a shower before calling up my mom. Even though I didn't fear it, didn't mean I want to experience it.
I called a good 5 times before hanging up and throwing on some sweats.
"Fucking dumbass shit over my dead beat ass dad that probably aint even my fucking dad. Stupid sons of bitches." I whispered to myself as I slipped on my pants. I took the hour drive to my mom's house and she was sober, watching TV. That's a first.
"Yes?"
"Where's dad?"
"Down in the basement. Why?"
"I got business to take care of with him."
"Father."
"Hey babygirl." He smiled, sober.
"Do you know a John Msgovkni?"
"Yeah why?" He got nervous as I said his name.
"You owe him 1 billion kilos in coke. You know that right? Then you have this man come into my home, drink my good wine, then threaten me and the rest of out lives."
"Tell him, I don't have it."
"Of course you don't have it. No shit sherlock."
"Nautica, could you..?"
"Could I give him what you owe him? Hell no. We aint poppin like that. Plus this is your bullshit, fix it. Or he's killing every single person in the family." I walked out and saw a Russian across he street, watching me.
