Nautica
I let the water take away the pain in my legs and back as I washed my upper half.
"That nigga outside." Deven said with hatred in his voice and I rolled my eyes. I dried off then put on my shorts and tank top along with my Michael Kors sandals.
"What?" I leaned over the ledge staring at him.
"I didn't mean for last night to go how it did. I didn't want that date to mean anything in starting a relationship. I just wanted to get to know you as a friend." He said with a straight face.
"OK. Bye." He walked out the front door and I went back into the room. Deven was laying on the bed so I decided to straddle him.
"Surprised you can walk." He smirked.
"Shush Dev." I lay beside him and drew circles on his chest.
"So, one of two things on your list are true."
"What?"
"The dick is good." I blushed.
"You ont think I'm a good nigga?"
"Ehh, you Ight."
"Whatever. I'm the best thing you could ever wish for."
"What happened between you and ole girl?"
"She cheated. Twice."
"Awe."
"Yeah but I gotta be at work in a few so I'll bring you lunch."
"Awe. OK." He went to his house and I went to the trap.
"Meeting." I gathered everyone for our weekly meeting.
"Tell me what's new."
"Nick died."
"Are you serious?" Nick was like my uncle.
"Yeah. Last night he committed suicide."
"That's fucked up man."
"Yeah. You know his family ain't the richest so they asked to contribute a little to the costs."
"Yea. I'll talk to Haven about it. I'm still trying to get the rest of my money that Julius ass owed me."
"Msgovkni said that he wouldn't help."
"That's fine by me! Now it's just going to take a little longer. Where's Jay?"
"He said that he couldn't make it today? Something with his grandad or something."
"OK. Is that it?"
"Ole coupe down the street was busted by 12 last night too."
"Damn." I shook my head knowing we werent very secretive about our dealings.
"Y'all watch out."
"Yes ma'am." They replied before I dismissed them.

I went into my office and called Msgovkni to see what the hell his problem was.
"Hello?"
"Why aren't you helping us?"
"I don't want things between us to be awkward."
"It won't. Just forget anything happened. You're fine."
"OK. I'll be there tomorrow."
"Kay." I hung up that call before calling Haven about the funeral situation.
"Hey, how you doing?"
"I'm alright."
"We'll pay for the funeral ma."
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Thank you so much. He didn't have life insurance and Jesus knows I don't have the funds for it."
"It's fine. We can meet up Monday on the arrangements.
"Okay. Bye." I felt happy that I was doing something bad and good at the same time. Selling drugs was the bad part but I always gave back to the community and made sure the hood was straight. I was snapped out of my thoughts by yelling.
"What the hell?" I walked in to the hall to see Deven with all types of guns held at his head.
"Yo, chill. He fam." I told them as they put the guns down, still mugging him.
"Shit." He fixed his suit before walking into my office.
"Sorry."
"Yeah. Over protective asses." He handed me the Wendy's and I shared with him.
"Thank you but stop giving me take out. It's going straight to my forehead."
"Nah, its going to yo ass." He laughed.
"Whatever." There was a knock on the door and he opened it, Msgovkni walked in.
"I thought you said tomorrow."
"I've got news today."
"Okay." There was tension in the room as we discussed business but Deven stayed in his place.
