“Absolutely not,” Daphne responded to her grandfather's ridiculous request.

“Daphne you have to understand that this is a fast way to clear your name,” Arthur responded.

“How is working for Quinn Cy going to help,” she responded.

“With him not for him. A collaboration between the Cy's and the Ross will benefit the family business and prove that the Cy's feel somewhat indebted to you for causing your arrest which will in turn solidify their claim of you being innocent,” Arthur said.

“This is all so complicated and to make matters worse the sperm donor has been trying to reach me,” she said.

“What does he want?” Arthur asked.

“I don't know. Imogen has been working overtime to ensure that her supporters believe that she too was tricked into believing I made an attempt on her life,” Daphne said, sighing tiredly.

“What's her story this time,” Arthur asked.

“Well according to her I stabbed her because Matt Cy forced me to and she wasn't aware of it. It's crazy some people are actually buying her story,” Daphne said, chuckling softly.

“You'd be surprised how foolish bias can make a person be. Are you going to counter her claim,” He asked.

“No, I'll let her think she's in the clear for now then when she has her gaurd down, I'll strike,” Daphne said.

“Did you know that she lost her child,” Arthur asked and the room fell into silence.

“Yeah,” Daphne replied quietly.

Arthur could feel the atmosphere become gloomy so he changed the topic to take her mind off her dysfunctional family.

“I don't know why you're so agitated over collaborating with the Cy's brat. A little birdie told me you were thinking of taking a break from acting and focusing on busines for now,” Arthur said.

“I don't talk to birds nor do I listen to what they have to say. Besides, I didn't realize Grey identified as a flying mammal,” Daphne deadpanned.

“You're right Grey is not a bird yet you still suspect him,” Arthur said.

“Who else would you trust enough to spy and easedrop on my private conversations,” Daphne asked with a raised brow.

“Don't interrogate me, do it to your shrewd clients and partners when you start the project,” Arthur said with finality leaving now room for arguments.

It's been three weeks since the statement was released and naturally there was less buzz around it. In the first two weeks Daphne had not once left her grandfather's house.

She originally wanted to move back her apartment at the Sky Arc building complex but decided against it as alot of people, her family especially knew that address and who knows some crazy fans may pay her a welcome visit.

All these were valid and logical reasons to leave her apartment but the real reason Daphne cancelled the idea of going back was because the apartment held too many toxic memories.

It felt like every furniture and aspect of the house held a negative memory.

The stupid mirror she bought to make sure she looked perfect. The couch she sat on for hours waiting for Ethan to show up. Her closet filled with apparels Ethan liked not with anything she particularly fancied.

Daphne knew in some cases she was subconsciously sourcing for bad memories in that house and that alone strengthened her resolve to leave.

After a week of house hunting Daphne finally chose an apartment in Parkville estate. It was in an wealthy neighborhood with enough privacy and a good security, even better than her old apartment.
