"Why uh save mi?",I asked.

I know Jay said they probably did it becausse it's his girlfriends father but....summu bout wah she did seh before mi completely dead, Mek mi waaah know.

"As Jay said we did because we are not cruel.",she said.

Brianna's pov:

Mi heart start beat fast when him seh that, i know what I said the moment he was about to close his eyes, but i didn't expect him to remember.

Mi nervous bad.

I sighed and got up from the bed, taking a deep breath.
"Suh uh come fi clarity or closure?", I asked.

He chuckled weakly. "Mi come fi the truth, maybe one more chance fi prove miself right. Mi know trying fi Mek Jay join up inna gang wid mi fi kill off e man dem was wrong mi tek responsibility fimi actions.",he explained.

Silence filled the room like a thick smoke. For a moment, it was awkward.
"Uh save mi life....", he whispered lowering his head. "Mi think a because a Jah but it deeper than that".
I looked at him long before I could utter a word.
I still care about kyrone but I don't trust him..to be honest, I still love him.

" mi save uh not because it was my job Kyle, but because I still care.", I said. "Stop walk pan the wound and guh rest."

Tash pov:

Tash laid on her bed laptop on her lap books all over, she had exams the upcoming week and she had to pass them.

I can't even focus properly as my mind is on one person, Jay.

He hadn't been home since last night and now I'm concerned. He only texted that he's busy.

I know he's probably trying to find information about my father and his secret but Im in my ovulation phase and you can't blame me for wanting some "good stuff".

Suddenly, the door opened. Jay walked in.
"De bed full a suh much paper b", he said removing the laptop and lying on her stomach.

"Wah uh find out today?", I was concerned about any information as regarding to my father, because which man chooses wealth over their own child..i don't understand. He's got to have a good reason for this.

Uh always expect people fi have good reason fi dem actions. My subconscious spoke.
"Shut up.", I replied.

Jay got up and said he didn't want to talk about what he found out about my father and to be honest i was determined to know. Because supposed him kidnap mii...!!

"So why can't I know?", I asked.

"Tash", he said.

"No no no You're not gonna try and talk me out of it tell me what you found.",I replied.

He swallowed hard, eyes flicking down. "Him not just want yuh gone... him plan fi trade yuh. To some man overseas."

I blinked. "What?",how could a father wants to sell their own child..it's not like I know anything about him because mom never talks and I....i never ask.

"Him owe people dangerous people. And him been in talks. Say yuh worthless to him. But one of di men... him want yuh. Like, own yuh."

The silence hit like a gunshot.

Jay stepped forward, his voice low and trembling. "Tash.....i dont know this man's whereabouts but if a never fi uh exam mi woulda tek uh from hereee right now so after your exams we are moving.."

"To where...it's not like-", I was stopped by him

"Yuh future nuh worth nothing if yuh dead!" he snapped. Then softer, "Mi love yuh, Tash. More than books. More than mi own safety. If mi haffi risk mi life fi get yuh out, mi will."

I sighed.

Jay walked up to her, cupping her cheek gently. "Mi been doing it. Every time mi go silent, mi out dere asking questions, tracking moves, making calls. Mi already get a safe place in St. Mary. Just for now... til we can figure out how fi get yuh out officially."

"But Jay—"

He kissed her. Rough and real. His lips tasted like sweat, urgency, and devotion. When he pulled back, his eyes burned into hers.

"No more buts. The girls dem drop and pick uh up from school as exam done wi a liff."?, he said pecking my lips.
