The only sound they could hear was of the little droplets of water falling from the sky. After they had finished their coffee, Haise brought her to a secluded area in the store where three bookshelves surrounded them. They sat down on soft floor cushions and ___ couldn't help but admire the way Haise planned this.

She hadn't felt so calm in a while.

___ took a book out from one of the shelves. Haise looked at her lovingly. She's like me, he thought. He wore his glasses as he read a book. His days at CCG were a bit tiring and being around ___ gave him a sense of relaxation.

___'s sat back down when she got the book she wanted. Haise wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her near. "I hope you don't mind." He said.

___ smiled at him warmly. "I would never mind."

Something clicked in Haise's head. He knew that somehow they had met before their encounter at :re. Something about her was so familiar.

He also couldn't shake away his dreams. That boy in her dreams talked about her a lot. In one dream he had mentioned a child as well.

Haise suddenly had an idea. If he asked her about a child and if she did have an answer to that then she and the boy in Haise's dreams were connected.

"___? Can I ask you something?" Haise asked. He didn't want to hurt her if was a sour subject but he had to know. "Sure." She said, looking up from her book.

He noticed she was reading 'the beauty and the beast'. He smiled. "Have you ever been involved with a child or a baby?"

The question took her off guard. She never expected him to ask. Did the Kaneki side of him think about our child?

She didn't want to hurt the boy living in the back of Haise's head. Though, she knew she had to be honest.

____ turned to face him and took a deep breath. Haise took her hand in his for comfort and she smiled.

"Remember I told you about my boyfriend?" She asked and Haise nodded. "When we were together, I wasn't able to have children according to the doctor but, I got pregnant."

Haise wanted to ask her where her son or daughter was but the next thing she said, broke his heart, "I failed my own child. He or she died at delivery."

Haise regretted asking her something that probably hurt her a lot. First she lost her boyfriend and then the child they had created. "I'm sorry for asking you something like that." Haise said, pulling her in for a hug.

She didn't care if this was too much but, she pulled back and cupped Haise's cheeks. She kissed him. Haise was a bit shocked but he quickly kissed her back.

Let me out, Haise! Don't let me disappear. She's mine and I'm her's! If you don't let me out she'll continue to feel hurt, Kaneki's voice rang through the boy's head.

Haise didn't give in still. Though, that message finally cleared something up for him. ____'s boyfriend was the boy from his dreams. He was sure of it.

He pulled ____ closer to him, their lips still connected. He slid his tongue into her mouth and tasted her. If the boy in his head was his old self then this girl was his from the start.

"___." He said once he pulled away. They were breathing heavily. Her lips were swollen and he couldn't help but feel pride. "Yeah?" She breathed out.

"You're mine. I know you are from the start." He said. ___'s heart ached. Does he know what he's saying? Does he remember me?, She thought.

He didn't remember her but he knew that there was a time when he was Kaneki Ken and this girl was his world.

Haise got up and offered the girl a hand. She took it and he pulled her up. "I should take you home." He said with a smile.

She nodded and wrapped her arm around his arm. He thought the position was adorable. They walked out of the bookstore into the rain but Haise immediately went under a cover. "Shoot, we didn't bring an umbrella." Haise said.

___ suddenly had a mischievous smile on her face and pulled Haise into the rain. "___, what-" "Come on Haise! This is nice!" She cut him off.

She took her shoes off and ran in the rain. There was little light in the sky but it was still peaceful. She turned around to look at Haise who was all wet and shivering. ___ rolled her eyes and pulled him with her.

"Running makes your body heat up. " She told him.

Haise smiled at her.

"I love you." He whispered not loud enough for ___ to hear. He knew it was too soon and even if they had been together in his previous life, he didn't feel sure about telling her.
