Narcissa appeared in hogsmead, keeping her hood up she pulled her cloak tightly around herself and began to make her way towards Hogwarts castle.
She walked up to the large wooden doors that sealed the entrance then paused, indecision stirred within her. She was married to one of the most powerful and feared men in the wizard in world, by default this made her one of the most feared women hated by all.
She was about to turn away when the doors opened.
"Narcissa this is a surprise" A man with a long white beard and twinkling blue eyes stood before her.
"Dumbledore I..." Narcissa started glancing over her shoulder. Dumbledore noticed her anxious behaviour and became concerned.
"What is troubling you Narcissa" he asked softly.
" Is there somewhere we can talk privately?" She asked before she lost her nerve.
Dumbledore nodded his head and led her to his office. Once they were seated Dumbledore observed Narcissa as her light blue bordering on grey eyes scanned the room looking anywhere but at Dumbledore.
"What has you so worried Narcissa?" Dumbledore asked politely.
" what I tell you can never be repeated to anyone. Lives depend on this Dumbledore" Narcissa said seriously.
"I will not repeat this conversation, you were never here" Dumbledore replied still intrigued
"I'm pregnant, the the child is not my husbands it is the child of the man I love. If the Dark Lord finds out should he rise again the child would be in danger" Narcissa said anxiously tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"And what may I ask has this to do with me" Dumbledore asked still polite
Narcissa took a deep breath and closed her eyes " the child is Severus'" she said quickly
Whatever Dumbledore was expecting to hear it was not this. He blinked at her revelation "Does Severus know" he asked softly
"I erased his memory, he doesn't remember we were together or that I love him. I took it all. I thought it was for the best" Narcissa said.
Dumbledore nodded" what is it you want of me Narcissa?" He stated into her eyes looking for the good he knew was still there.
" Draco is only four years old and if the Dark Lord rises Lucius has already promised him into service. I am trying to protect him but I think it is already too late" Narcissa held her tears in check but Dumbledore saw.
" Dumbledore I want you to protect this child. I ask No beg that you protect my baby. I can't watch two children follow the dark path" Narcissa's tears slid freely down her face now.
" If I do this what will you do for me in return" Dumbledore asked
"Anything" she replied quickly
" I want you to be a spy for me with Severus. When Voldemort rises and he will rise. I will need people I can trust do whatever I say without hesitation. You and Severus will be those people" Dumbledore said
" I will do it. I give you my word" Narcissa said looking into the piercing blue eyes, letting him know she was telling the truth.
" what about Severus should be know about the child" Dumbledore asked
" I would rather he didn't find out. I feel it is safer for both of them" Narcissa said softly
" As you wish. You are a wise woman Narcissa" Dumbledore said softly " I will become for the child one day after it is born"
Narcissa nodded lifted her hood and walked out. She would take a long holiday, have her child erase her families memories of her holiday and protect them as only she could.
