Snape flicked his wrist sending the students flying out of harms way. In that time he had forfeited his option to defend himself.
The club crashed into the Professors shoulder only millimetres from his head. With a cry of pain Snape crumpled to the ground.
The three children were terrified what were they going to do. Lori had been staring at Snape's still form. Suddenly she focused on the monster and took charge.
Running forward she called over her shoulder "we have to distract it or it'll kill him"
They only knew a few basic spells, but they could be useful as distractions.
Using Wingardium Leviosa, Lori sent items hurtling at the monsters head. Jessy and Oliver copied her actions keeping the creature distracted, while Lori tried to pull Professor Snape out of the creatures reach.
Lori saw her friend s backing towards them fear flashing in their eyes as the enraged creature lumbered towards them.
"Now What?" Oliver yelled his voice a couple of octaves higher than normal
Searching her brain Lori remember a spell form an older students book she had read.
"Jessy, Oliver follow my lead and try this spell" Lori yelled.
Pointing her wand at the monstrous creature she yelled "Stupefy" to her surprise a red light shot out of her wand hitting the creature.
She heard her friends shout as more lights followed the first.
Desperate Lori looked around for anything that would help. Nothing appears useful so she decided to try again.
" Again but this time together on three.ONE. TWO. THREE. STUPEFY" Lori hangout at the same time as Jessy and Oliver.
The red light hit the creature at the same time. The creature stumbled then fell backwards unconscious. Lori sighed in relief then lost her smile.
"Professor Snape" she cried running to kneel next to the teacher. Jessy and Oliver joined her as footsteps could be heard coming towards them.
It was Professor McGonagall and Professor Dumbledore. McGonagall clutched her chest as she saw the creature and Snape.
"What happened here?" Dumbledore asked as Snape was taken to the hospital wing by professor sprout who had arrived seconds after Dumbledore.
Lori had never seen the headmaster so serious. They began to explain the events that had occurred in detail.
Professor McGonagall shook her head as they finished. "You mean to say that you used a stunning spell above your year level to knock out a fully grown woodland troll" she said not believing them.
"I believe they did Minevra. 20 points each awarded to your houses for the outstanding bravery you showed tonight" Professor Dumbledore said at last. He noted that the children did not smile and their faces were still very pale"
Professor McGonagall looked at Dumbledore wide eyed then nodded
"I believe the children are tired and scared. Minevra would you be so kind as to take them to Lori's personal chamber. They are excused from classes tomorrow and do not need other students pestering them tonight" he said softly
McGonagall nodded and took the children to Lori's room where extra beds had appears for Jessy and Oliver. Tucking them safely in bed McGonagall waited until she was sure they were asleep before leaving. Dumbledore was right the children were extremely frightened and she would check in them in the morning.
McGonagall had just shut the door when Lori began to have a nightmare.
