The Oracle

NEW YORK, 3123

The Minister of Defense, James Kane, walked to the Central Park. The Scientist was waiting for him there. ‘Melissa,’ James said flirtatiously, and they kissed. ‘You shouldn’t do that, Minister of Defense.’ Melissa laughed and kissed James. ‘I don’t care what they say, Melissa Marquet.’

Melissa pulled him off. ‘Stop with the kissing. I have news about Lea Kerr,’ Melissa said. The Minister turned off his flirtatious mode, and started to listen. ‘She didn’t burst. Somehow, her atoms can resonance with our universe’s vibration,’ Melissa explained. ‘That’s strange. They’ve sent a lot of people and they all burst into some kind of disgusting corpse,’

‘That’s what I’m trying to understand. She’s... she’s special. She’s like the connector between the two universes. She’s the special Alternate,’ Melissa asserted. ‘Like in the prophecy?’ James asked. ‘Yes. Well, not prophecy. Like what the Oracle said,’ Melissa smirked. This girl really loved to smirk. ‘Well I guess it’s time for us to meet the Oracle then,’ James Kane hinted an evil smile. And so did Melissa Marquet.

DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE, NEW YORK CITY

It was an unplanned visit from the president. Everybody was pretty suprised with his visit. He came along with his secretary, Monic.

‘Mr President,’ the guard of the Department of Defense stood. ‘Thank you. I’d like to meet Minister Kane, please,’ The President said. ‘And he doesn’t like to wait,’ Monic added. ‘No need, Monic,’ he whispered.

The guard seemed a little bit puzzled. ‘I said I’d like to meet Minister Kane, please.’ The President asserted. ‘The—the minister isn’t here at the moment, sir.’ The President shocked. ‘And where would he be right now?’ he asked angrily. ‘I... I have no idea, sir.’

The President walked away. ‘You are paid to guard him, and now you don’t know where he is. What a shame,’ the President mocked him as he walked, and the guard didn’t say a word.

‘Tell all of our Defense Forces to go all over the State to find Minister Kane,’ The President told Monic. ‘Yes, sir.’

‘How can he go missing when we need him the most?’ he mumbled.

ALL POINTS NORTH HIGH MAXIMUM SECURITY PRISON, NEW YORK

The Minister and Melissa went inside the prison. ‘I’d like to meet Lucy Mold, please.’ The Minister said. ‘Sorry, sir. Nobody can access her prison, sir,’ the guard said. ‘Shut it and let me meet her. I’m the Minister. You’re just a guard,’ he assisted. ‘If you want to, sir.’

They walked inside. Lucy Mold’s cell located deep inside the prison. ‘Here you go, sir.’

The guard opened the door. Lucy Mold sat inside, and she was lurking in the darkness. ‘Leave us, please.’ The guard left.

‘I knew you’d come,’ Lucy said. Her voice was shaking. ‘Of course you’d knew’ the Minister said. ‘And I won’t tell you anything, Minister.’

The Minister laughed. ‘Of course you will. Tell me everything you know about Lea Kerr!’ the Minister shouted. ‘You will tell us, Oracle,’ Melissa said.

‘I won’t tell you. After you accused me for a crime that I didn’t do, I can’t accept your apology, James Kane.’ Lucy Mold stood. She walked away from the darkness. She was a bald, thin woman that looked sad. ‘Tell us, bald lady. Or you’ll be sorry!’ Melissa assisted. ‘I WON’T!’ Lucy yelled.

The alarm rang. ‘What the hell?’

The guards opened Lucy Mold’s cell’s door. ‘Minister of Defense! We’re here to taking you to the Big House!’ a soldier said. Oh hell. So they’ve known about what I do? The Minister thought. ‘What the hell did I do?’ he asked furiously. ‘We cannot tell. Get him!’

The Defense Forces handcuffed the Minister’s hand. ‘You’ll be sorry for this!’ the Minister yelled.
