Flicking her lighter to get the bathroom smelling like Lemon Pound with a candle she got at Bath and Body Works, Daniela inhaled like she had just taken a bite of a Klondike bar. After a rainy and hectic day at work, Daniela came home running water for a bubble bath.
"I linked with Troy," Britt discloses to Daniela over the phone.
"Ewwwwww," Daniela drags with her nose scrunched while sitting at the edge of the tub.
"I was horny, okay," Britt moans, but Daniela could only say:
"Ewwwwww." Troy was community dick; everybody had some of that. If it wasn't you, then it was ya homegirl who got a slice.
"I feel so disgusted," Britt whines.
Daniela turned off the water once the tub was filled up enough. "You should fucking be. I could've hooked you up with a friend of mine if I had known you was that desperate."
"It just happened. I was out drinking, and he was starting to look cute, and then next thing you know, he hitting in the parking lot in the backseat of his car."
"I ain't shaming random hookups or hook locations. But with community dick? Gorl," standing up to start heading to grab her robe. "Go get tested."
Britt runs her hand through her red hair. "I already got an appointment for tomorrow at noon."
"I rather put my pussy to concrete before letting that man touch me," Daniela shivered just thinking about it. Getting this ringing in her ear through the house phone, "Hold on. I'ma call you back."
"Enrique calling?"
Daniela almost stopped moving her feet in the hallway. "You chose your toxic ex over me. You ain't the one to talk," Britt saying bye before she clocks her again, Daniela clicking over to Enrique's call. "Hey, I called you. Everything okay?"
"Yeah. I left my phone in the car. You good?" He received the voicemail she left, but it wasn't audible when he listened to it.
"I'm great. I saw your gift when I came home, and I wanted to thank you." The first thing Daniela saw when opening her bedroom door was this long black box with a white ribbon tied around it—a card stuffed between the ribbon reading For You. Daniela didn't need to guess who sent it. "First a frame and now some shoes. That cookie good, huh?" listening to his laughter over the phone.
"You could fit em'?" Enrique knew her size, but every shoe was cut differently.
"It's perfect. Now I feel like I gotta buy you something," grazing her fingertips over the red leather boots she's been dying for.
"You ain't gotta do that," Enrique responds, stepping away from the people he was with for a more private conversation.
"To return the gesture," she explains. He went out his way to buy her something—something that she's been eyeing every day in a way to manifest it.
"All I need is a thank you." Enrique's a giver. He didn't need the woman he was seeing to gift him anything but her time, patience, and affection.
Daniela played with her necklace, toes squishing the floors as she swayed her foot side to side. "Thank you, Enrique."
"My pleasure, mami," Enrique then says, "Let me come over."
She put her finger through her belt loop, "to do what?"
"That thing with my mouth you like."
She felt the butterflies knock at her stomach, "boyyyy."
"What? You don't want me to?"
