"Her Royal Highness! Her Grace!" The minister declared that our mother was present. "Her Excellency! Her magnanimous Majesty, Empress of Wonderland, the Queen of Hearts!"
"Your Majesty." Everyone showed respect by bowing.
Mom surveys the disorder created by Red. "Who is responsible?"
"We don't know, Your Royal Highness."
She grunts and sighs.
"I've doubled the guard, tripled the patrol, and personally offered ten diamonds for any information that leads to the capture of the criminal."
"Their Royal Highnesses, Princess Red and Princess Claudia!" The minister acknowledged our presence.
Red and I walked over to them.
Mom observed her clothing. "Oh. I see you couldn't be bothered to dress for court like Dia did. I found that outfit... offensive."
"I wish I didn't offend you."
She sighs. "Sorry to rouse you both out of bed before noon, but while you were sleeping, the Royal Plaza was vandalized. And this sorry excuse for a soldier failed to protect my portrait. So, the question is, what do we do? Poke thorns in his eyes? Off with his head?"
I saw her with her cards.
