Chapter III

"Hey, don't come near, just stay where you are."

"Lucas, are you okay?"

"People are coming after us. You need to go some place safe, far away from the city."

"You're starting to freak me out, what's going on?"

"Do you remember the new job that I told you about?"

"Yeah, you told me about it the day before you disappeared."

___

"I never left. That day I went to see my boss to deliver some documents that he asked for. And when I was about to walk in, I heard him arguing with his wife. I could hear them screaming at each other, so I decided to come back the next day. But when I turned my back, I heard a gunshot so I walked in the room. I saw my boss standing in front of his wife with a gun in his hand. She wasn't breathing anymore, and she instantly bled cold. My boss looked at me and asked me if I was listening. He pointed the gun at me and told me not to tell the police. I said yes, but that didn't seem enough for him and he started to shoot at me. I ran towards the fire exit and luckily got out alive."

"And now he's hunting you down to keep you quiet."

"Exactly."

___

"Then what does this have to do with me?"

___

"He saw your photo by my desk and told me that if I don't show myself he'll come after you. Well, now I'm tired of hiding. So I asked him to meet me here. I just wanted you to know that I never left."

"You need to tell the police about this."

___

"He hired a few men to do the job. If he goes to jail, they'll continue pursuing me. And I know that they won't stop until I'm dead."...
